"Amazing service and onsen facilities. There are both indoor and outdoor, private and public baths to choose from. There are unlimited drinks from the drinks machines and also other complementary food services. Both the meals, breakfast and dinner, were exquisite. It was great to experience traditional Japanese dining. The traditional Japanese building was like a labyrinth and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the many halls and gardens. The location is also great and there are many shops and temples around the area. All in all the perfect place to have a more traditional Japanese experience whilst receiving excellent service."

"This hotel is located in uphill. It is difficult to walk up to the hotel, better to plan your itinerary with free shuttle schedule. The free shuttle bus schedule stored in the hotel website but the file I couldn’t able to download. You can call the hotel for details. The hotel facilitates are good but every single spot are not walking distance. It is suggested to buy some snacks/food before going up to the hotel. If you play golf, they have a view of Mt Fuji. The staff here are polite and willing to answer your questions."

"Arai Ryokan, built in 1872, is a luxurious ryokan with 31 Japanese style guest rooms are located in various private cottages. Its 15 wooden structures are registered as the national cultural assets. Many Japanese celebrated artists made frequent visit and the big art collection is housed in the ryokan. A wooden bridge leads to the guest rooms which overlook either the river or the courtyard with its large pond full of carp. Arai Ryokan’s traditional Japanese cuisine kaiseki served features local fresh seafood and vegetable of each season."

"The resort is truly remarkable with good food and onsen facilities. My rating is purely based on the resort experience. However, I will like to provide feedback on the reservation experience on trip.com. The pricing indicated on trip.com is not totally transparent. At the time of booking, I indicated 2 adults and a 7yo child to get accurate pricing. The amount was prepaid with a small fee JPY450 to be paid at hotel. At check in, I was shocked to learn that we are expected to pay for the child room rate at JPY22k+. That was not indicated on the “to pay at hotel’. Trip.com customer service officer replied that the requirement was indicated on the email confirmation sent. This is upsetting as I usually used the mobile app and relied on available information to make reservation. It is not my habit to check email confirmation given the information on the app is correct. Pricing should be made transparent at point of booking and not after booking. And out of ‘goodwill’ they offered me a compensation close to 50% of the child room rate. I have been using trip.com since covid and this is my first time having such issue. I hope my experience can benefit others who is booking this accommodation with child."

"The staff was very professional and kind. We reserved the private onsen for an additional cost. We booked the biggest onsen. The washing area and the changing room was impeccably clean. The end of the tub however was a bit scary. The walls and ceiling was covered in spider webs and there were giant spiders hanging on there which was a bit unnerving. Otherwise the public washing areas and the room were very clean. The ryokan however is a bit outdated. There are some markings on the wall and curtains."

"Een zeer bevredigend verblijf. Japanse tuin, kaiseki-keuken en een al lang bestaande herberg in Showa-stijl. Ik heb altijd al een volledig Japanse herberg met warmwaterbronnen willen bezoeken, en deze ervaring was een geweldige ervaring. De service van de receptie en het huishoudpersoneel was ongelooflijk Japans. Je moet absoluut reserveren voor maaltijden; ze zijn het echt waard en je kunt op je kamer eten zonder de deur uit te gaan, waardoor het een geweldige plek is voor luie mensen. Mijn vriend boekte een kamer met zeezicht en het weer was perfect. De zee in Nishiizu is werkelijk prachtig. We zijn meerdere keren naar de warmwaterbronnen geweest en met reservering kregen we een gratis privébad met het gezin, wat een geweldige fotomoment was. De kersenbloesem stond in bloei en het hotelpersoneel maakte foto's van ons toen we vertrokken. Ik zou er graag snel weer naartoe gaan. Ik raad deze plek echt aan vrienden aan. Het is perfect voor een kleine groepsreis, maar er zijn niet veel Chinezen, dus je hebt misschien een tolk nodig om te communiceren. Maar met zoveel vertaalapps die er tegenwoordig zijn, is het prima acceptabel."

"Приехали на 1 ночь. Потрясающее место.  Услужливый персонал (я бы даже сказал, что слишком), очень приветливые и отзывчивые. Идеальная чистота в номере. Мы посетили более 20 отелей в Японии- этот самый чистый и ухоженный. Территория рёкана большая - это больше онсенный комплекс, чем просто рёкан: включает несколько зданий (соединённых коридорами и переходом под землёй, смотровую у речки и парковку. Мы взяли номер с купелью, и что самое интересное- в купели та же вода, что в онесене! (хотя обычно в частной купели просто подогревают обычную водопроводную) На улице было прохладно (начало января), но абсолютно везде в номере было тепло. Онсенов на территории отеля- 4 (2 общих не крытых, 1 крытый и 1 приватный) Подают ужин с использованием местного свежего васаби, который предлагают натереть самому- вкусно. Большой зал-лаунж, небольшие японские садики между помещениями, особое внимание к каждому клиенту. Из минусов: нельзя посещать публичный Онсен с тату, нельзя курить в номерах (на trip.com может быть указана некорректная информация- если критично уточните у отеля напрямую!), высокая стоимость за ночь. В остальном- максимальная рекомендация."

"スタッフの方々がとてもフレンドリーで過ごしやすかったです。 お部屋も広くて綺麗で良かったですが朝食に和食だけじゃなく洋食と選べられたら良いなと思いました。 楽しい時間でした。ありがとうございます。"

"Dit is mijn eerste kamp. De kamer is groot, ik ben erg tevreden! Ik ben blij dat er veel barbecue-instrumenten en borden zijn. Maar er zijn wat bezorgdheidsgevoelens, in de eerste plaats is het grote openbare zwembad zeer klein. In de tussentijd is er slechts ３ een kleine slaapkamer. De nacht is het verkeer overbelast, er wacht iemand buiten op wat. Daarna is er geen badkamer in elke kamer, dus je moet de nacht naar de badkamer in het koude weer. Bovendien was het bed klein, ik was een grote vriend met me, dus ik sliep in de kamer. Behalve wat hierboven, ben ik erg comfortabel en tevreden!"

"Vlug naar het hotel 5 minuten voor het einde van de hotelcheck. De verblijfstijd is een beetje dicht. Vroeg 17:00 uur. Ik moet in de berg Bodenbestendig blijven. Ik heb 30 minuten voor de rente. Het hotel heeft twee openbare soep op de derde verdieping, de buitenruimte van de kamer heeft een privésoep, zeekeken, de landschappen, met warme en prive soep, prachtig."
