4-Starhotels in Cairns

De locatie is uitstekend, op loopafstand van de pier, het centrale winkelcentrum en andere plaatsen; de servicegerichtheid is goed en de receptie speelt actief in op de behoeften van de gasten, de kamerfaciliteiten zijn comfortabel en de hygiëne is goed; Al met al een zeer leuke plek om te verblijven. We verbleven drie nachten.

My first room in building C was awful with the view of the opposite hotel. I could literally watch what other people did in their room and they could watch me as well. Also the room condition was so bad with crawling insects so I needed to upgrade the room. The upgraded room was fine with a poolside view and less bugs crawling on the wooden table. I understand there could be little creatures but just too many in the first room. Other than that, their food was delicious and staffs were kind and friendly. My kid loved playing in the pool.

De kamer was gewoonweg fantastisch! Hij was schoon en netjes! Hij had zelfs een balkon en uitzicht op het zwembad. Hoewel we er acht dagen verbleven, was de keuken uitgerust, zodat we zelf konden koken. De rijstkoker was erg handig. Smaakmakers zoals zout, peper en suiker waren aanwezig. Koffie en thee waren ook aanwezig. Er was voldoende kookgerei, waaronder pannen, borden, bestek en ongeveer drie Tupperware-bakjes. We kozen voor een kamer met een wasmachine en droger, waarvoor geen extra kosten hoefden te worden betaald zoals in een gedeelde kamer. Zelfs zonder roomservice konden we handdoeken en andere spullen wassen, wat het een uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding maakte. Voor een verblijf van een week wordt er op de vierde dag schoongemaakt. Er waren twee rollen toiletpapier en twee dozen tissues. Er waren ook twee badhanddoeken, washandjes en handdoeken. Er was één Japanse medewerker. Er is een groot winkelcentrum in de buurt, op vijf minuten lopen. De lagune schijnt op 20 minuten lopen te liggen, maar omdat we liepen en praatten, voelde het veel dichterbij. De locatie was ook uitstekend. Een echte aanrader als je voor een langere periode in Cairns verblijft.

Bathroom was outdated but room was clean. Balcony very small and curtains let a lot of light through so difficult to sleep in the mornings. Reception staff super helpful with any queries and great location. Fitness centre hasn't really got a lot in there, don't rely on it for a good workout!

We kozen deze plek omdat we een vlucht moesten halen. We huurden een auto en reden daarheen. Het hotelpersoneel was erg beleefd en gaf ons een upgrade naar een suite met uitzicht op de bergen uitzicht. Het was heel mooi. Toen we de kamer binnenkwamen, is het in een mum van tijd zeer comfortabel en het landschap is charmant. Vrienden die in Cairns willen boeken, kunnen dit hotel kiezen. De prijs is ook relatief betaalbaar

Good Chinese restaurant - nice food and the price is reasonable. The shower room window is terrible - tall guys can easily peek into the shower area - this makes my female family members very discomfortable!

The Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.

The room facilities are relatively old and the lights are dim. Slippers and toothbrushes are not provided. Shower gel and shampoo are of poor quality. The room was on the first floor and there was noise. It should be the sound of the air conditioner engine or other machinery. The breakfast is simple and does not provide the delicacies of various countries. It only has bread, fruits and some drinks. A separate deposit of 50 AUD is required upon check-in, or 100 AUD in cash.

Was nervous due to past reviews, but found the reception staff friendly and helpful & the facilities really good. The room was basic but location was walkable and, whilst a little noisy at night sometimes, the other guests were kind and considerate. Would stay again!
