My stay at the Moxy Chicago was fantastic! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant, modern, and welcoming. The room was thoughtfully designed—every inch of space was used efficiently without sacrificing comfort or style. One of my favorite parts was spending time on the outdoor patio. It was the perfect place to relax, enjoy the beautiful weather, and chat. The lobby was full of life with a great DJ creating a fun vibe, and I appreciated that the snack and drink selection included quality options instead of just typical junk food. We were even welcomed with complimentary drinks, which was a really nice touch. Throughout our stay, we always felt safe, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. I also loved that the lounge areas and games weren’t just there for decoration—they were actually being enjoyed by guests, making the hotel feel social and inviting. It’s clear that the Moxy was designed to bring people together while still providing a comfortable place to unwind. This stay completely won me over. My next hotel stay will definitely be at a Moxy property. I can’t wait to experience another location, and I would highly recommend Moxy Chicago to anyone looking for a fun, stylish, and memorable stay in the city!

We stayed at tons of Marriott properties around Chicago and this was in our top 3. Location is top in the heart of River North, there is another ”super fancy” Residence but at that location all the employees had attitude and it felt really weird. This is the best one. I felt like I could live here, the staff are all really capable, at one point my living room TV wasn't working (someone had plugged it in wrong) and they had a maintenance tech up there in less than 15 minutes. They also called to follow up and make sure I was taken care of, which really impressed me. Free breakfast is very good. The only ”note” I would say is that this is a building where you have to take 2 elevators to reach your rooms, one to the main lobby and then a second to the rooms. The ”close” button is normally in the same place in every elevator but in this one it's the ”Call for Help” button, so I accidentally reached the elevator techs who asked if I was trapped, haha. I ended up doing this a few times, so if you're an ”always press close button” person make sure you find the right button first!

The free breakfast is not a full buffet but a choice of egg and then usually fried potato and beefburger patty or slices of sausage. the rest was tiny yoghurt and bread for toast, or make your own waffles. there is tea coffee and hot chocolate. There was cereal and porridge but sometimes it is made so thin that its not worth eating. There is no tea in the room, just coffee. The machine had a disposable tray but they ran out so I used the same one for 9 days for tea and coffee (i got teabags from the breakfast room). Housekeeping never supplied what you asked for first time, or even second. If you want something and ask at 2pm, you will get it if you chase a couple of times afterwards by 9-10pm. There was also alot of messing about with respect to check out time. I am a member of the loyalty programme which is meant to give you an automatic late checkout. The manager gave it to me but then when I went back to ask about extending it further for a fee, it was clear the other guy behind the counter was on a power trip and the day before started saying I shouldnt have got it and as it was the manager, he wouldnt withdraw it but he could and I should only get an hour and be charged $25/hr after that etc. He was just a mean spiteful man who saw an opportunity to cause worry and distress and he did it. I had luggage to store and it was a late flight so I had to know whether to pack to store it to check out at midday, or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 (they were messing me about with all times) but this is why I gave a 1 star for service. It is not at all professional but childish and spiteful. I had arranged the extended checkout days before and the day before they were messing me about when I had to pack and had a schedule of things to do? The worst service in any hotel I have ever been in. Hilton is no longer a 5 star experience it seems. 1 star for service.

Location is good with a beautiful view. Just a heads up bring your own slipper and dental kit and drinking water because they don’t have complimentary of such. Overall we had a great sleep and we enjoyed our stay.

Location is good especially 5mins walk to the Grand subway station and it’s in the Shopping Loop. Room facilities is not that good, hair blower plug is shaky unable use. Towels not provided as per paid occupants. Need to request. Unable to do the make up for ladies as the Sensor entrance light is too dim.

Helemaal niet slecht, service soso, de locatie is niet slecht, mooi in de buurt van Chinatown en Star Bucks Coffee naast de deur. We hebben te laat uitgecheckt, onze eigen fout, maar geen genade, ze waren niet volgeboekt, maar toch brachten ze het volledige tarief in rekening. De medewerker deed zijn best, maar de vrouwelijke eigenaar was stijf. Voor de rest een leuk verblijf.

During our recent stay at this hotel, we experienced a range of both positive and negative aspects. We made reservations on New Year’s Eve, marking our first visit to Chicago with my partner and friends. While we enjoyed the overall experience, we found the hotel to be more expensive than in the downtown area. The parking fees were particularly exorbitant, and the open space parking lot raised concerns about safety. Additionally, we noticed a discrepancy between the number of towels and cups provided in the room and the number specified on our reservation. Despite promptly contacting the hotel upon arrival, we were still short of towels and cups for two days. Despite these issues, we acknowledge that the stay itself was pleasant.

Our room on the 8th was spotless and well-kept. Location was perfect for easy access to the Lyric Opera Theatre. Our only complaint was the breakfast. Plan on bringing your own or eating elsewhere.

Stayed 4D3N Pros 1. As a Chicago marathon runner, the location outweighs all the cons. The hotel is just opposite to the starting and end points of marathon route 2. Offer late check out for marathon runner to 2pm 3. Close to some famous tourist spots such as cloud gate (the bean), route66 starting point, ..etc 4. Complimentary bottle water, the only hotel we were staying in USA Offered this service 5. 10 mins walk to nearby subway station Cons 1. Aged, some in-room facilities even were loosen and not fixed tightly,for example water tap 2. Nearby not much eateries to choose 3. I have fully paid the room rate online before arrival, but the hotel still charged me the same amount while we were checking in, I made an enquiry to the hotel and they replied it was due to their computer error, crazy and nothing to say!

However, upon arrival with my partner, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and well-decorated, with a modern and cohesive style. Our check-in process was fast and efficient, and the receptionist was friendly and happy to answer all of our questions—especially about the fees mentioned on the hotel’s website. One of the main issues people seem to bring up is the so-called “hidden” fees. In my experience, these fees are not actually hidden—they’re listed on the hotel’s official website. That said, they could definitely be communicated more clearly. It’s important to read the fine print when booking and during check-in. While the fees may not be obvious at first glance, the hotel is legally allowed to include them since they are technically disclosed. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with enough space to hang clothes. There were multiple hangers, and the locker-style closets matched the hotel’s sporty decor. The floor and bathroom were clean overall, though I did spot a spider in the corner of the shower—but nothing alarming. The downstairs common area includes an open kitchen with a communal fridge and even a crockpot, which was a nice surprise. There were also several games available, like ping pong and air hockey, which makes this place family- and couple-friendly. Guests are allowed to enjoy drinks provided in the kitchen. If you’re sensitive to noise, particularly trains, I recommend requesting a room farther down the hall on the first floor. Our room was in a quiet spot—I barely noticed the train, and when I did, it was more like soft white noise. Still, bringing earplugs might help if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, I recommend this hotel. It’s in a nice area, the decor is visually appealing, and the stay was enjoyable. Just be aware of a $120 refundable deposit (if no damage is done to the room) and an additional $50 guest fee. Knowing that ahead of time helps avoid surprises. I’m very grateful for the pleasant stay and would return again.
