"Het was boven verwachting goed! De sfeer was heerlijk, de gemeenschappelijke ruimtes waren retro ingericht en er waren veel internationale gasten. Het lijkt me een van de meer gevestigde hostels in Chengdu. De locatie is top: zowel Chunxi Road als Taikoo Li liggen op ongeveer 10 minuten lopen. Er is een lift op de 3e verdieping.
De kamer zelf was schoon en fris. De dekens roken heerlijk en er was geen rooklucht. Het had een eigen badkamer, airconditioning en een raam, waardoor er overdag een prettige natuurlijke lichtinval was. Alleen de badkamer zelf had iets schoner gekund.
Afgezien van medebewoners die af en toe luidruchtig hun keel schraapten, de badkamer lang bezet hielden en de deur open lieten staan, was ik verder zeer tevreden. Het personeel was zeer gastvrij en reageerde snel op vragen. Als ik weer naar Chengdu ga, zal ik deze plek zeker opnieuw overwegen."

"De gastenkamers en de receptie bevinden zich op de 19e verdieping. Ik heb een hoekkamer gekregen met een extra raam aan de zijkant, waardoor het er ruimer en comfortabeler uitziet. Het personeel spreekt alleen Chinees, communicatie is moeilijk. Vragen stellen op WeChat is niet erg responsief. De badkamer heeft geen scheiding tussen natte en droge zones. Er is een koelkast, wasmachine en droogruimte, een waterkoker en een föhn, maar geen magnetron. 2 grote bedden voor een comfortabele nachtrust. Vergeleken met de prijs is het goed, maar op de dag dat ik ging, werd de prijs verdubbeld vanwege het festival, dus het voelde een beetje te hoog."

If there are multiple people booking multiple rooms together, you can contact the hotel in advance to confirm if they are in the same community. The kitchen is not open, but the washing machine and refrigerator can be used for free. The hygiene service is free for one guest, and there is no front desk. The password is self checked in. If needed, please contact the butler. B&B has single rooms, suites, Taikoo Li landscape rooms, river landscape rooms, french window, and duplex units, giving you a different experience. Facilities and equipment are complete, the room type is quiet and not facing the street. The room is located in a residential building and gatherings are not allowed. Please do not make loud noises. We look forward to your stay!

Toplocatie: De locatie is uitstekend. Twee metrostations liggen vlakbij, wat erg handig is.
Winkelen: Voor winkelliefhebbers is er een levendige winkelstraat met een groot winkelcentrum in de buurt.
Wandelen: Een aangename boulevard langs het water ligt op slechts 5 minuten lopen, perfect voor een romantische wandeling.
Netheid en service: Het bed, de lakens en de handdoeken waren brandschoon. Ik waardeerde ook de dagelijkse vuilnisophaling.
Verbeterpunten (Onderhoud appartement):
Afwijking met foto's: Het appartement op de foto's ziet er prachtig uit, met een mooie inrichting. Er is echter wel wat onderhoud nodig.
Gebruikssporen: Ik zag gebruikssporen, zoals beschadigde kastdeuren die vocht hadden opgenomen en loslatend behang.
Beoordeling netheid: Mijn lagere beoordeling voor netheid is niet te wijten aan de kwaliteit van de schoonmaak, maar specifiek aan de algemene staat en het onderhoud van het appartement."

"Zowel de locatie als de service zijn top! Op slechts 50 meter van metrostation Hongxingqiao kunt u zo de trap aflopen en het station betreden. Chunxi Road ligt op slechts twee haltes afstand en is ook superhandig om Kuanzhai Alley te bereiken. De kamer heeft een gigantische projector en een wasmachine, en is erg schoon. De receptioniste was erg vriendelijk en hielp me zelfs met het opbergen van mijn bagage. Ik heb een comfortabel en zorgeloos verblijf gehad. Als foodie kan ik zeggen dat het ook superdichtbij de snackstraat Jianshe Road ligt."

"I really like this place. It's very close to IFS. The hallway smells nice, the room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the pillows are very good. "Het is een stukje lopen vanaf het metrostation, maar er zijn voldoende bussen vanaf de hoofdstraat en er zijn genoeg restaurants in de buurt, dus je kunt je er relatief gemakkelijk verplaatsen. Deze keer verbleven we in een kamer voor 20 personen en de bedden waren erg schoon en ruim. Het was er rustig en iedereen sliep goed. Het personeel bij de receptie sprak vloeiend Engels, wat erg handig was. Als ik één ding moet noemen, dan is het dat de badkamer een beetje sterk rook."

"Ik denk dat Mu Lai de enige plek is waar je het meeste Chengdu-gevoel in het kerngebied kunt voelen. Het is alsof je in een museum voor antieke kunst woont. De stijl van het oude Chengdu combineert met een eenvoudige industriële stijl, en de heldere en comfortabele kleuren zorgen ervoor dat mensen volledig ontspannen zijn. De baas en zijn vrouw zorgden ervoor dat ik me welkom voelde. Comfortabel en spraakzaam. Gaf me veel lokale informatie. Houd echt van een vriendachtige interactie. Ik ben heel blij dat ik voor zo’n boetiekhotel heb gekozen met een verhaal en zonder commerciële sfeer. Dit zou het meest waardevolle herinneringspunt van mijn reis moeten zijn. Het was echt verfrissend om de bloemen, planten en vissen te zien die ze kweekten. Het voelt alsof ik thuis ben.

"Probably my favorite homestay in Chengdu, if not China. Room is spacious, clean and sunny. Balcony is a bonus, esp on sunny days. The design is effortlessly chic and charming, with quality and functional furniture. The microwave, fridge and washer make long (or short) term stays very convenient.
Location is amazing; you’re right in downtown, less than five mins walk from TaiKoo Li, IFS (and so many other malls) and Chunxi Road. Metro is also just a five mins walk so you can easily get to other areas.
The host is very helpful and responsive and they were so kind to give me a sunny room upon request. The cleaning ladies are also very generous with the amenities, giving multiples of water bottles, towels, napkins, slippers, etc. The room is located in a residential building without a traditional front desk; so while you won’t feel like you’re walking through The Four Seasons Hotel, you’re definitely getting luxe service once you check in. Highly recommend."

YyicokyOmdat ik vroeg aankwam, kreeg ik van het hotel een gratis upgrade van mijn kamer. De kamer was verrassend goed. De douche en het toilet waren twee aparte ruimtes, wat geweldig was. Er waren ook gratis theeserviezen, theeblaadjes en wierook op de kamer, wat me verraste. Het was zeer voordelig en het was 's nachts niet lawaaierig. De geluidsisolatie was erg goed. Behalve het kussen overtrof alles mijn verwachtingen.

SSharifah AisyahThis is such an excellent and cosy place to stay before going up to Xiling Snow Mountain! The owner is so kind and hospitable. Made sure we were comfortable, upgraded our room to a bigger one as we were large group, and ensured our breakfast served was suitable for Muslims. We can use the kitchen to cook our dinner which she gave us complimentary condiments to use. She really went out of her way to cater to our needs. Amazing views of the river from the rooms as well! Would definitely recommend staying here! Will come again

XXiaoqizailvtuOmgeving: De locatie is erg goed. Beneden is metrolijn 2. Het is erg handig om naar Chunxi Road in Taikoo Li te reizen. Het is ook heel dicht bij de Jiuyan-brug. Er zijn veel heerlijke gerechten in de buurt.
Service: De dames zijn erg enthousiast, helpen proactief en zijn erg geduldig.
Faciliteiten: Je moet met je kaart swipen om de lift binnen te gaan, en de deur is met een wachtwoord vergrendeld, wat erg veilig is; het 1,8-inch bed is zeer comfortabel; is zeer comfortabel om films te kijken ~
Hygiëne: droog en nat zijn gescheiden, er zijn wegwerptoilethoezen aanwezig en de schoonmaak gebeurt tijdig en zeer schoon.
Het enige nadeel: de grootte van de kamer is een beetje klein~

CCarolina H.Excelent service. The staff were always very helpful and nice to us. They replied quick in wechat. It is very easy to reach, near to the metro station and a lot of food stores. We arrived very late in the night (like 1am) and still we found food.
The room was very clean, as expected in the pictures. They changed our towels and tooth brush daily wich surprised us. We also had a very good view from the windows.
We asked for a non smoking room and we were veru happy that didn't smell like cigarettes.
Maybe you can smell some times the bathroom but I think is because of the sanitary installations, not the first one that we smelled in China. Very recommended in general :)

Location
On a long street with many restaurants and shops along the street and a self service ATM 5 -10 min walk away, including a small market in the mornings. It is a residential area, so you will most likely be the only foreigner, but people are extremely friendly and helpful, albeit the stares. The entrance faced the main road and was well lit. There is a flight of stairs that you will need to go up to get to the hostel area. If you have not tried hot pot, I would def recommend going to the Haichiniu Xianxianqie Beef Self service Hot Pot place which is around 5 mins walk down the road.
Quite far from the centre of the city however it is extremely easy to get to. During the day, there is a close proximity to the underground around 10 min walk, and there is a bus that I took from the city centre to right outside the hostel door where the bus stop was. If you are going through the night/early morning, it is extremely easy to catch a taxi through apps and it is quite cheap (around 40- 70 yen) and the road is very well lit. I felt completely safe in the area.
Service
Chu, the hostel aunty is warm and helpful, and gives you a sense of being home away from home. This included being made some home made dumplings to celebrate Golden Week which tasted delicious! She gave recommendations on places to go and made sure that I kept safe when out. As another review said, it can be a bit difficult communicating if you don't know Chinese as no English at the hostel or around the area is spoken and it can get quite draining/ mentally challenging at times for us, however Chu still tried her best to communicate regardless and I really appreciated the effort. To get around this and to make your stay more enjoyable, I would be sure to have WeChat set up prior so you can use the chat translator and have your google translate app out ready. (N.B Make sure you are able to set up the account and get the WeChat validation/security text through your HOME sim/data roaming as opposed to attempting to set up your account on your E-sim which won't work).
Facilities
It is a hostel that provides what you need. The things that took my British head some time to get around was the shower situation and the bed; namely the shower as it was more typical of an advanced bidet than standard shower. However, it was kept exceptionally clean after my first day there and I did my part of keeping it clean by bleaching it down. The bed is quite sturdy, typical of Chinese beds, so I would recommend bringing a blanket or similar to lay on the mattress so you can get to sleep. There is an upstairs area where you can use the washing machine or wash your clothes by hand and an open area to hang dry your clothes. Make sure you have some cash ready to give to Chu to use the machine. There is a vending machine that you can buy snacks for using the your WeChat pay. There is a seating area at the top where you can sit down and eat, smoke and chat. Once you are used to the different products used (i.e remembering the slippers, using the shower etc.), it becomes second nature and a very comfortable stay (funny story: I was sitting on a desk chair outside my room and being use to the chairs in the UK being quite heavy, I swung myself around and ended up falling off the chair LOL!).
Cleanliness
Like I mentioned above, the hostel is kept exceptionally clean and I had no concerns around hygiene once I got used to the shower situation. The cleanliness is what I can say was a huge benefit to the hostel. Considering how large the place is and Chu is the sole host, it is kept evidently very clean and Chu will be sure to tell you to tidy up too lool. People in China are not a fan of strong smells/ fragranced things so you will not smell bleach or such products but after seeing a storage room, I can assure they are being used!
The photos in the other reviews capture it exactly so you will not be surprised when coming to the place.

GGastgebruikerGreat and convenient location, to the point we extended another night stay. Only 200m to People's Park station, subway Line 2, which can connect you almost anywhere. Able to walk to People's Park and Kuanzhai Alley, even Tianfu Square if you can walk 2km. Also have a convenience store available downstairs of the same building, and Hong Qi store if you walk a bit further. Many tour agencies are on the opposite road, where you can book day tours. The tour bus pickup and drop off points are also only around 1km from this building, easy to walk to due to the extra-wide sidewalks. It's facing the main road so you can easily get taxis as well.
The building is easy to locate, but the check in counter is more confusing to find. When looking in from the main road, the convenience store is on the left, so you need to go to the opposite side of the convenience store. You need to walk to the back of the building and find the entrance facing the wall with a car park boom gate. There is a security guard and there are lots of online delivery boxes. Then, access the elevator and the reception is on level 26.
There was a washing machine and detergent available in our unit, which we utilized. Other than the clothes hanging bar in the kitchen, the rest of the unit lacked places to hang things such as wet towels. It was a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom unit with another queen bed in the living room. Hot water was always available though you have to fiddle with the lever and wait some time. The kitchen only had a water kettle and a few mugs. There's a primary school right beside the building and you can hear the students every weekday morning. (My photos were taken just before checkout so don't mind the mess)
The owners are an exceptionally friendly couple who are hardworking and provide excellent service. They are open to feedback and we've told them what we think was lacking in our unit. Hopefully they will implement the small improvements. They also recommended a few restaurants to us that had good local food and were reasonably priced.
Recommend to add them on WeChat prior to arrival and communicate your arrival time. They wait at the front desk past midnight if they don't know the guest's check in time. However, they can only communicate in Mandarin, so you may face some difficulty.

De inrichting is verfijnd en luxe, de hygiëne is perfect, de WiFi is razendsnel, het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam, de overige faciliteiten zijn compleet en het hotel is geschikt voor zowel vakantie als zakenreizen.
De locatie is uitstekend, dichtbij de bezienswaardigheden en rustig, het eten is heerlijk en lang houdbaar, de roomservice is op tijd en het voelt als thuiskomen. Volgende keer kies ik hier!

EEajndraDe locatie is heel goed, vlak naast de Wenshu-tempel. Het is dichtbij de metro en de bushalte. Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het bed is comfortabel, de kamer is netjes en alles is schoon.

AAnonieme gebruikerDe kamer is erg schoon en netjes, ruim en licht, en helemaal niet luidruchtig. Ik vind het heel goed, de prijs is niet duur en de prijs-prestatieverhouding is hoog. Het belangrijkste is dat ze gratis ophaal- en wegbrengdiensten bieden vanaf de luchthaven en metrostations, evenals wekdiensten. Hierdoor kunt u rustig slapen zonder dat u zich zorgen hoeft te maken dat u uw vlucht mist. Bovendien is het hotel gemakkelijk in te checken. Het personeel heeft een zeer goede servicegerichte instelling en is erg aardig, en de communicatie is erg prettig! Al met al was dit verblijf het geld waard en ik was zeer tevreden met mijn verblijf! Duimen omhoog 👍
