Hotels in St. Paul＇s Bay

Well, what a great hotel. We arrived on the opening day after a name change from the last hotel name (same owners, different name) We was meant to go to Las Vegas but it didn't happen so we went to Malta. The Hotel was stll being refurbished but a lot of the rooms was open, We was given room 3124 a gorgeous room, with a really nice view. We was shown to our room by Vikky (Viktoria, the Guest Relations Manager) after being checked in by Natalia (i think) We also got a bottle of wine for our long awaited honeymoon as our honeymooon kept being cancelled including the Las Vegas one. As Hilton Diamond members we get breakfast included in our room rate, Breakfast is an expansive affair with far too much to choose from, i went for Salad, i know, crazy right. but topped it off with a nice omelette. The outdoor pool is small but very good, the indoor pool much larger but far too hot for us. Service is great and fast, they was always out taking orders and bringing drinks quickly so you could enjoy more outdoor time. After a few days of being there we asked if we could upgrade to All Inclusive which turned out to be very good, we'd done everything we wanted to do in St Paul's bay so wanted to hang in or near the hotel. All the food is delicious and drinks, although confusing of what was allowed for AI customers, i made the suggestion of having a drinks menu of what drinks ARE allowed as we got a lot of you 'can't have that' A few members of staff made our stay really fantastic and always took the time to say hi and have a great conversation. These include Vikki (GRM) Lorenzo (bar supervisor) Jason in the same bar, always happy, always friendly and Desislav Juniper bar and other staff that we just didn't get their names. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the main Square with a vast amount of shops, bars and restaurants. This used to be the old Dolmen Hotel and they have retained a lot of their staff, it's been nice seeing them adapt to a new system which can be challenging but they will get there in time. At the time of writing this review, there still are building works going on but getting less and less as its all getting finished. We always book at gilluru hotel either a weekend break or a day by the pool the food is extremly fresh and very tasty

Struttura un po' vecchiotta ma efficiente . La camera era molto ampia (davvero enorme) , con balcone . No minibar e no kit per il bagno ; mi è stata fornita sono una mini soap bar (quindi se prenotate vi consiglio di portare i vostri campioncini) . La colazione è discreta . Facendo un bilancino qualità prezzo non posso assolutamente dire nulla , anzi . Unica pecca che mi ha davvero fatta rimanere parecchio male , nonostante io non sia una persona ”schifettosa” , è stato il water in cui ho ahimè trovato piccoli residui di escrementi (facilmente rimovibili con lo spazzolone) . Questo per me, come per chiunque del resto, indice di pulizia non approfondita ed efficiente !

Perfect location, we were on 5th floor and stayed from saturday to tuesday at last march weekend, if there were any street noises, we didn’t hear anything (our windows were located on main street), balcony was a great bonus to spend evening with pizza and wine. All shops and restaurants are in few minutes. Nice reception 24/7, delicious and various food at breakfast menu. All toiletries were included, towels and hairdryer. Additional warm blankets, but room was warm, used them for sitting outside. Huge free parking lot. Out stay I rate 10/10.

We stayed on the older side of the hotel. Room smelt of damp and when we complained they came in and bleached the floors nothing else. There was only one socket in the room which kept crackling. The breakfast was average but we went up the road to Debbie’s Cafe which was great. The pool upstairs was good with nice views but the drinks were overly priced. We had a couples massage “Back, shoulders and neck”. My other half only had his neck massaged. I had all parts it felt good but later that day I experienced some horrific neck pain and felt as though a muscle had twinged. Not worth the price we paid. We went to the Thai Fusion restaurant the views were great but I wasn’t over impressed with my dish to start as is was a red curry in soup water, thankfully they took it back and the taste wasn’t so bad. Again felt it was over priced for what it was. Over all hotel was okay, but the services within were very overly priced. I also think had our room been on the renovated side we would of been more positive on our review as our room was outdated and stunk of damp.

Having stayed in several hotels in the area (Dolmen, Seaview, Topaz), I decided to go for the closest to the action for my latest trip. I believe the Primera Hotel has been undergoing upgrades since COVID. The results of these are visible in some areas and in others there is work to be done. All the staff were superb. Friendly, helpful and welcoming. I didn't catch many names, but Njelli??Nellie?? on reception, Clayton night reception, were great. Housekeeping were also polite and very friendly. The room, on the second floor, was quite large and comfortable. The furniture (wardrobes, drawers, bedside cabinets and fridge all looked brand new. The bed was two fairly basic metal frames with relatively poor mattresses, which had very stiff edges so there was no chance of a spread across the two singles to treat as a double bed. The bathroom was again a good size and was clean with what looked like fairly new tiling. The only downside of the bathroom was the ridiculous shower cubicle with doors that don't roll on the runners but must be almost picked up and put into place when showering. The roof terrace again looks as though it has been recently renovated and was a really surprising treat. Wonderfully clean and tidy. Plenty of loungers and a pool that is big enough to have a cooling dip when the sun gets a little hot. A TV plays tranquil music and WC/changing facilities were a nice touch. I would guess there is enough space for a small bar or a pool table up there if the owners were so inclined. I watched the Saturday of the Malta airshow display with a great view over St. Pauls bay. Such a shame that the Sunday was canceled due to the high winds. The location can not be beaten. So many bars and restaurants are within a few minutes (in some cases seconds) walk. Less than a hundred yards to the promenade beach and swimming. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, on the understanding that The Primera is not perfect but I believe they are working to get there. I for one will be back. Many thanks

The hotel is very clean, very hot outdoor swimming pool. The buffet is very repetitive and not terrible. It is better to eat at the map or outside. The hapy hours is not valid for the buffet. Incredible anyway. Otherwise excellent quality price and cheap drinks.

Myself and my fiancé visited this resort and it was an excellent hotel, in a lovely part of Malta. The hotel was very clean, with very nice and obliging staff who were extremely helpful. The breakfast offered a great choice of foods including continental style, cooked traditional English breakfast foods, as well as cold meats and cheeses with an array of pastries. The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and lovely shower and bath facility, as well as a balcony to relax on. The resort has its own private beach area which is only a short walk away, as well as having 2 outdoor swimming pools. The housekeeping staff were extremely efficient, and always left the rooms looking fresh and new. The bar area is very welcoming and relaxing providing a good choice of cocktails at a fair price. I would 100% come back here, and although this is my first visit to Malta, so I do not have anything to compare it to in terms of other hotels in Malta, I would say that it has been a brilliant experience so far staying here and have enjoyed every minute of it

The neighborhood is super well located and dynamic, close to everything! The roof top, swimming pool and bar are great, but the view is a little spoiled by the buildings being built around. The staff is very welcoming and responds quickly to any request. Pay attention to breakfast times, if you are unfortunate enough to show up at 10:01 a.m., you will not be entitled to any coffee... The rooms are comfortable, equipped with a small individual terrace, very practical, but we did not have hot water pressure in the shower, which is a shame. The neighborhood is nice And we never had a problem parking for free around the hotel during our entire stay. I recommend !

We recently returned to the Paradise Bay resort a year on from getting married there on the beach outside the Porto Lounge. The hotel is amazing, whatever room you have you are going to have a view either of Paradise bay with its beach and constant coming and goings of yachts and speed boats, people swimming in the clear blue waters or on the other side, looking out over the south Comino straight with all its water traffic and the ferry port with the constant activity of the ferries going over to Gozo. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, fridge and TV, although English channels are few and far between, and are well cleaned everyday. It may not be to everyone’s choice as it is a little isolated but the excellent bus service from right outside the door can take you wherever you want to be around this beautiful island and buses run every few minutes and for just 2 euros you can go to the next stop or the other end of the island, can’t fault them. The hotel has a choice of four swimming pools, three outdoor and one indoor, including a small jacuzzi, all are well maintained, clean and certainly no shortage of sun loungers. The inside public areas are clean and comfortable and the restaurant the same, however, although the quality of the food served in the restaurant is good, choices can be a little limited and sometimes we found the table turnaround was a bit chaotic, with people wandering around looking for a clean prepared table, that said we never had to wait too long and enjoyed everything we did have to eat. All in all we would thoroughly recommend the Paradise Bay resort to anyone and we will certainly be returning there in the future.
