Hotels in Koh Rong, Sihanoukville

Dit is absoluut een budgetresort en heeft een facelift nodig. De service was echter onberispelijk en vriendelijk en het is een heerlijke sfeer om in te verblijven, je kunt gemakkelijk voorbij de onvolkomenheden kijken. Elke ochtend een ontbijtbuffet, de kamer wordt opgemaakt terwijl u aan het ontbijt bent en er worden strandhanddoeken verstrekt. Het Mad Monkey hostel ligt naast de deur als je op zoek bent naar een barsfeer, en de resorts aan de linkerkant van Koh Rong hebben ook goede happy hours. Er zijn niet genoeg strandbedden voor mensen die verblijven, dus probeer er vroeg een te pakken, maar we vonden het heerlijk om rond het strand van het resort te liggen met de eilandhonden en dames die eten verkochten.

Das Hotel ist ein super modernes und neues Hotel. Eine wunderschöne Lage mit einem wundervollen Strand, alles perfekt angelegt. Das Zimmer ist sehr gut ausgestattet, mit modernster Technik. Es gibt noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten zu verbessern. Einmal war das Zimmer gar nicht gereinigt und ein anderes Mal wurden Handtücher vergessen, mal große, meine kleine… Man musste immer daran erinnern.  Bei Ankunft baten wir da drum, ob wir  eventuell einen Bungalow in einer tieferen Etage bekommen könnten. Darauf haben wir nie eine Antwort bekommen. Wir hatten uns dann auch mit einem leichten Berganstieg abgefunden und es war in Ordnung. Ich hätte mir aber gewünscht noch mal eine Info zu bekommen. Die Kommunikation lief immer über WhatsApp und es wurde ansonsten immer sofort alles beantwortet.  Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Allerdings nach einer Woche war es dann immer dasselbe. Am Anfang gab es nur eine Platte Obst und die war immer relativ schnell leer und auch da musste man mehrfach nachfragen, am nächsten Tag hatten sie dann immer zwei Platten und das war dann okay. Das sind alles Kleinigkeiten, der Service war sonst sehr freundlich und aufmerksam Am Pool lagen auf den Liegen immer Handtücher und da hätte ich mir gewünscht, dass man sich auch noch mal ein neues Handtuch holen kann. Da lagen aber nirgendwo welche aus. Am Strand gibt es viele Nachbarrestaurants, wo man jeden Abend woanders essen kann.

The resort is ideal for families, it's very convenient because it has a private beach, pools, and it’s peaceful in the evenings. The café and restaurant are located right by the beach. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, they welcomed us at the port and arranged boat transportation. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone coming to Koh Rong!

No TV. Toilet has a seat cover that is smaller than the toilet opening. Kitchen staff ignored my excuse me and pretended they didn't hear me. Manager is excellent.

Chambre double standard très grande, lumineuse et propre. Dommage qu’il n’y ait pas de brise-vue aux nombreuses fenêtres (donc rideaux opaques souvent fermés nous concernant) et pas de TV ni de frigo. Literie trop ferme avec un seul oreiller par personne. Salle de bain spacieuse, WC avec douchette mais souci avec la douche (sélecteur inversé et l’évacuation qui se bouchait sans enlever le cache). Climatisation fonctionnelle et chambre globalement calme. Personnel souriant. Location de scooter pratique directement sur place (10$/jour sans aucune caution) et navette gratuite en journée. Réception joignable via WhatsApp/Telegram, mais réactivité à améliorer. Wi-Fi utile car très peu de réseau. Ménage sur demande. Emplacement bien situé niveau tranquillité : Coconut Beach accessible à pied, Long Set Beach (plus animée) à 10 min en scooter et 15 min environ pour Kaoh Touch Beach. Accès un peu rocailleux mais faisable. En résumé séjour agréable dans un cadre calme, avec quelques points à améliorer côté confort et communication.

Een onzettende warm welkom ontvangen! Behulpzame Staff! Hebben me geholpen bij het boeken van mijn scuba diving en mijn ticket met de ferry . De kamer was goed en gekoeld! Ik mis alleen een telefoon en omdat ik ziek was moest ik zelf naar het restaurant om mijn eten te bestellen (geen room service). Menu kaart was niet ingericht voor vegans. Tevens ook het ontbijt niet. Ik kon letterlijk alleen fruit en aardappelen eten bij het ontbijt. Uiteindelijk heb ik door onderhandelen met de Staff wel uiteindelijk lekker gegeten! Ik had wel graag de kamer met zeezicht gehad, die twee glazen wanden had. Verder heerlijk op de beach vertoeft! Ik als solo reiziger die echt er was voor mijn rust was dit een geweldige locatie op Koh Rong!

Pros: - the most beautiful beach I've seen in my life. White sand as thin as flour. Transparent water. Fish swimming around, seashells, crabs... - kids love it. There's almost no waves. You can walk 50m into the sea and the water just reaches your waist. Great for little kid. Our 1.5 y.o. kid loved playing in the water. - the restaurant of the hotel serves fusion food. Delicious and not pricey. The neighboring hotel Your and Me has a restaurant that makes more traditional khmer food that is also delicious. - the room is spacious, bright, with an incredible view. Anyway, you will spend the whole day outside. - for 100$ you can take a boat and do fishing, snorkeling, touring the island. - the hotel has free kayaks, paddles. Can improve: - the staff is very laid back. They are very nice but at the restaurant for instance, better go to the bar to order I saw people do that rather than waiting for someone to service you. Everyone seems ok with that. Cons: - the shower is outdoor. So washing outside trying to avoid mosquitoes is not great. One night we had a visitor, a huge spider fell on my wife while she was giving bath to our kid, it was the size of my hand. Not a great experience. But we'll this is nature. Can't fault the hotel. - we staid at a double room the night before. And the only difference was just a few intelligent change in furniture : trash in with a lid, glass door in the restroom so natural light comes in, a bathtub that was not really useful. For these small changes the price difference is huge. Important Note: I learnt unfortunately that the island is infested with sand fleas. All the hotels are facing this issue. A bite is not dangerous but bothersome if you're allergic which was my case. My wife and two kids had no issue. But I was bitten on my back because there was some sand on my bedsheet and the sand fleas had a feast at night. My back itched crazy for one week. The bad thing is it seems hotels have no pharmacy. So be prepared and bring your own topical cream or cortisone cream, and antihistamine just in case. It seems I was the only one in the hotel to have this issue but googling it I found a few bloggers describing having this issue. Note 2: there's a ferry that can bring you directly from Sihanoukville to the hotel's beach, one per day. We took the GTVC to LongSet Beach Pier, then had a taxi, 5$ per person. We did that. It was a smooth ride. The taxi was a great experience

Het hotel ligt aan Sok San Beach, op ongeveer 5 minuten lopen van de jachthaven West Harbour (ongeveer $30 per persoon retour). Aan de overkant van de straat ligt schoon, fijn wit zand dat het azuurblauwe water en de witte wolken weerspiegelt, wat een adembenemend uitzicht oplevert. Het hotel zelf heeft een bijzondere architectuur en een aangename sfeer. Het enige minpunt is het beperkte personeel; we moesten lang wachten op de menukaart en moesten elke keer naar de receptie om te bestellen – het voelde als zelfbediening. De prijzen waren 2-3 keer hoger dan elders. Desondanks behoort dit hotel tot de beste in de omgeving. Motorfietsen kunnen gehuurd worden voor $15 per dag. Al met al is het een geweldig hotel en zeker een bezoek waard!

Nice place to spend few days with a mesmerizing view but be ready for climbing high stairs up. Not suitable for people with walking disabilities. The view at the rooftop is just so good and there's a pool table free of charge and a bar for drinks. The room was nice and we had good sleep but the room lacks head towels, hairdryer, and a safe box.

i absolutely love this place. Food, beach, sea, pool everything was gorgeous. Any dish and drinks from menu was so much delicious. Staff was so friendly and helpful. It was really the best choice for such price. Also I liked so much that can take for free some boats and kayaks from the hotel. We really had more fun there. Also want to mention some minuses which maybe not totally connected with the hotel but would like somebody tell me in advance about it: 1) hotel doesn’t accept all cash. At our last day we need to get some changes and hotel didn’t accept my hundred dollar because there was some red stamp on it. As for me it’s so strange but I heard it could happen in Cambodia. But next day when we moved to the Sihanouk they accept this hundred dollar easily , so I don’t understand this logic too much. But even the hotel didn’t accept that hundred they still help us with some cash as for us it was urgent to buy tickets for early morning ferry. 2) and the biggest minus it was trip which we bought from the hotel: fishing +snorkeling +sunset+plankton Never ever buy it! Safe 20$ for anything else. The most useless half of day of my trip was there. And what make me sad it was last day in the Koh Rong. Was upset that spent last evening at this stupid way. The tour is organized by tourist group “three brothers “ and the hotel sell it. Could be nice if they tell from beginning that this trip is a total 💩and don’t allow spoil vocation of there customers. But anyway nobody force us to buy it so can’t totally blame hotel, but…😢 So will explain why I such upset about the trip. We came to the ferry and boat brought us to another place where stay 3 boats . Than we change boat and a guy just give us that special mask for snorkeling and tell: ok go… but our boat was staying between 2 other boats so how I should go I didn’t understand. After we sitting and don’t understand anything for 10-15 min other boats left than we decided to go inside water. There was no fish !!!!!!!!! Maybe maximum 5 fishes!!!!!! We saw more in the hotel.than fishing: they didn’t teach us anything didn’t explain anything we just stop they gave us something as thing for fishing and just went to sleep. Than after one hour when one chinese girl almost start to vomiting we went to dirty dirty and over dirty long set beach for sunset. And we arrived there around 3:30-4! So should wait for sunset 2 hours!!!!! When we ask to put at least music they said: captain want to sleep… And beach was over dirty!!!! Than they start to cook some food gave some drinks, we watch sunset was beautiful ( because thanks God they can’t spoil sunset) and then we went to watch plankton. I was so exited about that and than they stop us on the middle of the nowhere and don’t tell anything. Where is plankton? Full moon no have plankton… how we know it? Why we still stay in that place 30 mint. I would like to know answers for all this questions but nobody gave me it… so was the worst time from 1:30pm to 7:30pm. If don’t Wang to spoil u day never go there!!!!
