The old-school amenities of this large hotel that, judging by the inscriptions around, used to cater for japanese business travellers, make you travel to a holywood movie of the 1990s. The location is behind the Lujiazui business district and bordering new residential tenements from 1980s.

The hotel is beautiful, great location , everything you need is within 3km, some walking distance (subway station, restaurants, coffee shops and convenience store) hotel stuff was very welcoming. It very clean and smells good. Really enjoyed the breakfast, was hoping that the swimming pool would be open unfortunately it seasonal cause it outside and it in winter. Will definitely book again we really enjoyed our stay 😊

We stayed at the hotel for 9 days and all the staff are extremely helpful and patient. The concierge, front desk receptionists, and cleaners all go above and beyond. We are very grateful towards the staff members. Finally, the location of the hotel is also convenient with 4 metro lines connected and the view is spectacular.

The AC not working in whole hotel and the room was hot and the staff informed me that the AC will start working at the beginning of May, I am not satisfied with this policy.

Great hotel. Nice location. Perfect service. Hotel upgraded the Deluxe room to Executive Suite for free. It has an amazing view from the top floor!

The Purple Mountain hotel is our favorite place to stay in Pudong. It's clean, quite, has friendly staff, excellent breakfast buffet, and the location is super convenient. A large shopping mall with many restaurants just opposite the main entrance to the hotel; subway station "Century Avenue" less than 10 minutes walking (take exit 12),and if you don't mind walking, it's only about 20 minutes to the Pudong site of the Huang Pu river, opposite to The Bund, with beautiful views at night not to forget the Financial district and TV tower. And of course many restaurants, most noticable the Paulaner, for those who like German (Bavarian) food and beer. 😊
