We chose this hotel again because it is close to our hospital for morning appointments. Unlike last time though, the central heating was insanely hot. Nothing we could do would make the room cool enough for a comfortable sleep. They offered to open a window but that just lets in the noise and pollution. Centralised heating is fine, but you must set it at a reasonable temperature. It was 34C in our room! No Kidding! Such a a pity as otherwise this is a lovely traditional hotel with beautiful historical features. The staff are so friendly and nice too. But they tried to kills with the heat. Sorry, but cannot recommend.

Beautifully made. Huge rooms and lots of amenities. , I cracked a deal for 1000 RMB for 3 nights , try if you can too.

Sound proof of room terrible. I literally hear the next door person in snoring , after I checked out at early morning 2 am
Only 2 water bottles in the rooms for the money that pay it’s cheap .

The room ambience was very dull, no proper lighting, as if we are staying in a dark room. The AC system is very old which was not working properly. Not worth.

The hotel is very outdated and the furnishings are very old. The breakfast was quite disappointing and no one at the hotel could speak any English. It was quite a disappointing experience, seeing as it is a 5 star hotel in Shanghai.
