It is a beautiful lakeside accommodation. The weather is good and cool. Wake up early and be able to run and exercise.

Although i’ve lived in Canada all my life, I never tried ice fishing. Thanks to good friends, we traveled to Orillia and had a great day in a surprisingly warm and cozy fish hut. Afterwards we headed to Orillia Quality Inn and hoped there would be a restaurant nearby. We were beyond thrilled as we pulled up to see a restaurant and arcade with bowling and bumper cars!!! Orillia Quality Inn set up the perfect evening for all of us (i.e. 3 families with kids ranging from 6-18yrs). We ate (the funnel cake fries are a must try); played pool and video games; but by far the bumper cars were the highlight of the evening! Usually bumper cars kinda sucks because you all get stuck and it’s too hard to drive. The cars can move, the bumpers are big, and the time was long. So much fun!!! Although the hallways were cool, the rooms, water, and swimming pool were warm and comfortable. It actually felt good knowing the rooms and doors were well insulated, especially thinking about the environment. The staff were so friendly, hardworking and helpful. Even my kids noticed how hard the staff worked and the different roles they played! Thank you Orillia Quality Inn! Really was a Quality stay!

The hotel is located near the former residence of the great communist warrior Bethune, on the side of the road to Algonquin Provincial Park (one of the best places to see the maple in Canada). It is very easy to find. You can see the maple leaves when you open the window in the room. Beautiful! Although on the side of the road, it is very quiet at night! The hotel is clean and tidy, and the beds are large (no extra beds are allowed). It is very loose to take a child to rest with. The rooms are not big, but they are well-equipped with microwaves, refrigerators, coffee makers, etc. The front desk service was very warm and thoughtful. Considering our age, it was very convenient to arrange our accommodation on the first floor. I also explained in detail to the map which places to enter Algonquin Provincial Park are the best places to appreciate the maple. It also tells us that we are very lucky, it happens to be the maple leaf blooming season. It is within walking distance to the Bethune Memorial, it is worth staying.

Room was clean and comfortable, however the restaurant was not open and no room service for meals.

Overall we enjoyed our 3 day, 2 night, with great weather, wonderful view of waters, local attractions & a local restaurant with water front dining within walking distance, passing by Lock 45, as well as a short drive to Big Chute Marine Railway a must see!! We had breakfast on the outside patio at the Christie Mill Inn & really enjoyed the 3-5 appetizers special also on the patio, great value. Our room was good, with chairs & outside balcony conveniently located near front entrance. We spent time in the water & on the beach, which provided comfortable lounges, & dock side chairs, grounds were maintained well, BUT the only thing that disappointed us was the large flock of geese 🐦 who roamed the property freely & left their “droppings everywhere”. We got an early check in, enjoyed the indoor pool, and what really took us to this location was utilizing our Best Western Rewards points & promotional BW $50 gift cards, which made it great value. Port Severn & it’s surrounding area & lakes is well worth the trip.

I didn’t know there was a Marriott Fairfield in Orillia so we decided to stay when we travelled to see some friends. It’s absolutely amazing. Breakfast was great the staff was great and the rooms are beautiful. It feels like you are in a high end hotel. I’ve never met such friendly staff who help in everyday. It’s rare to find a good hotel that’s clean and quiet. The price is bang on and they have all sorts of discount codes (CAA, seniors rates, government and more!) great place to stay.
