"A last-minute booking for an overnight stay and well pleased with the accommodation. Set in peaceful surroundings and a short drive from the beautiful Wasdale Lake. Accommodation was very clean and beds comfortable. Toiletries provided as well as tea/coffee and home-made biscuits A mini-bar was also available although we didn't partake! A variety of breakfast items and the cooked breakfast was fresh, hot and thoroughly enjoyable. setting us up for the day. Some noise from the room above but not enough to disturb A tad expensive compared with what we've paid before for places but it wouldn't stop us going back!"

"Ik kan het hotel niet genoeg bedanken voor een vroeg ontbijt te eten door industriële actie op een nabijgelegen site die betekende dat ik het hotel moest verlaten voor 07:00. Ontbijt is gewoonlijk 07:00 vooruit. Dankzij Gary en Helen die eerder aankwamen dan gewoonlijk om dit te voorzien. Ik blijf hier vaak en elke keer dat het personeel zeer vriendelijk is en het hotel is uitzonderlijk schoon en comfortabel. Dank u voor het goede verblijf."

"The good points: The staff are friendly and helpful and you can see they want to do a good job. The rooms are clean, well decorated and have plenty of power points. Things that could be better: Comfier beds and pillows. Somewhere in the shower rooms to store toiletries rather than on the floor. More storage for clothes. No breakfast - just a voucher for the shop. It would be better to knock some money off the price and just say they don't provide breakfast. Things that aren't good: The food - pretty much everything is deep fried and forget it if you are veggie or just want something wholesome and healthy. One of the menu items is called Tits 'N' ****. Really? I find that pretty offensive. Noise levels - from outside with traffic and from the pub across the road, ending late at night and starting again from 4am. And from inside the hotel, again starting from early in the morning - from around 4/4.30am. And I could hear the person in the next room snoring!!! For an odd night it's ok, but I think it would be a struggle if staying frequently or for a few nights. To be honest my score would be 2 if it wasn't for the cleanliness of the rooms and friendliness of the staff, whihc can mkae up for a lot. It feels like a drinkers' pub that has rooms upstairs rather than a hotel."

"Stayed here for one night and got room 6. The bar seemed very quiet when we arrived a Member off staff behind the bar greeted us checked us in and lead us to the main stairs explained where our room was and we were good to go. The place could definitely do with some work and an update but for the price it did the job fine. Could be quite noisy as I could hear talking in the hall way and people outside the pub. But for our stay it was okay. Tea and coffee in room with kettle but no milk."

"Very clean hotel. It was a memorable stay during the solar eclipse. Not far from the beach. The hotel was  a bit far from the main lakes, but still reachable. The food was lush, especially dinner, variety of choices from the menu. Added bonus, it’s dog friendly. Could do with a fan in the room tho."

"Wel het hotel Wel, het appartement moet ik bellen was ok schoon en tijdig en ok voor de twee nachten die we toch waren. 3 kogels werkten niet in 2 lampen en de slaapkamer dakkogel was dumm en flikend ook het ijzer werkte niet en het warm water nam een leeftijd om uit de tap en douche 😳 anders dan dat ok."
