"By the time I was able to make a booking, this hotel was virtually the only choice left, but I did not regret that. Not too far from the main station, close to the centre, but in a quiet side street. The staff were friendly and helpful, also glad I could speak German. I was put in Room 3 on the 1st floor (US 2nd). As the photos show, it was just about adequate, especially for people travelling light. The Internet connection was excellent, and the TV had of course only local programmes. The shower room (photo) was small but adequate. A new experience: there was only one soap dispenser, which could be moved between the basin and the shower. The hot water supply was fine. The breakfast buffet was very varied (given the size of the hotel)."

"Friendly staff, clean room, breakfast is great. What more can you possibly ask for? A little off the main road, but easy to access. Price is quite normal. Do not belive the negative reviews, they are not truthful, just hostile rubbish. We were there, we enjoyed it."

Hotel Elefant

"This was a super little hotel with lots of little amenities that made it even better. It's part of a building that includes this hotel, a restaurant, and a sister hotel on the other side of the building. It's in the heart of old city Salzburg, which means you walk right out into the middle of things. Little plusses include tiny lights under the bed so you don't whack yourself in the night, and a double-paned window to block out the church bells which start very early and go on into the evening. The breakfast was very nice, and the restaurant is a good choice for lunch or dinner (probably best to reserve ahead). The cost was very reasonable for what you get!"
