Hotel le Mimose ★★★

"Bij aankomt loop je een prachtige gerenoveerde tuin binnen met mooi zwembad, dat beloofd wat zou je denken. De juffrouw bij de receptie was erg verlegen, na enkele dagen ontdooide ze en was ze zeer vriendelijk, na een gesprekje bleek dat ze net 2 weken in dienst was, ze was erg behulpzaam. De kamer was ronduit slecht, klein, weinig sfeer, badkamer prima. De kamer voelde bij binnenkomst koud en klam aan de vochtigheidsgraad was ontzettend hoog, geen ventilatie, raam kon niet op kiepen, venster moest helemaal open, geen horren. Het bedden goed is een laken met een deken, voor de kou kun je z’n ouderwetse deken nemen, je weet wel zo vilt achtig, niet echt aangenaam. In de ochtend was het werkelijk een vochtige toestand de ramen en zelfs de deur waren nat van het vocht. Het bed voelde vochtig aan. We kregen de tip dat we de airco op een hoge temperatuur moesten zetten. Ontbijt was super, alles erop en eraan, zeer vriendelijke medewerker die met enthousiasme de koffie serveerde. De juffrouw die vloeiend Engels sprak was zeer behulpzaam en zeer vriendelijk, belde haar man die ook in het toerisme werkte voor info voor juiste info over daguitjes. Wij waren er begin mei, ze zijn aan het verbouwen, opvallend geen enkele overlast van lawaai. Wil je iets zien van het eiland, auto is een must. Centrum is 15 min lopen en een van de stranden 20 min. De bus naar Olbia stopt voor de deur. Wij hebben er met regelmaat gebruik van gemaakt, erg goedkoop en zeer goed te doen. Al met al, Sardinië is prachtig, fijne tijd gehad, jammer van de vochtige kamer."

Terradimare Resort&Spa ★★★

"4 star resort if you’re staying in any other room but the apartment. Our room (105) became infested with flying ants and termites on our last night of the trip. Front desk provided us bug spray to deal with the bugs but they kept coming. It was impossible to locate the entry point because there were so many of them. We had to have the kids sleep in our room as I didn’t want them where we had to use the bug spray. On the second night of our trip, the electricity went out in our room and it activated the emergency lights throughout the apartment at 0200. Not the best way to wake up. This was weird as the air conditioner continued to run so at least that was a good thing. I went to the front desk to complain and realized that it had affected the whole hotel as all the other guests were either standing outside their hotel room and the front lobby was packed. Receptionist said it was a problem in the city not caused by them but the street lights and neighboring houses had power and the AC was still running so not sure how you talk that one down. As compensation, they took 20€ off the breakfasts that weren’t included in the hotel apartment booking and gave me a 12 o’clock late checkout from the standard 10am. This hotel is still one of my favorites but selecting that apartment was a bad move. It’s very spartan, does not come with room cleaning but that’s all stated up front when you book. It’s good for a family of 4 to spread out in and we had a terrace to dry off all our beach things after a day out in the sun. Breakfast buffet is good. Also I remember from our first trip the receptionist would provide a map of the neighboring beaches and a code to get a discount for the reservation only beaches. This time I had to ask about it but the receptionist did get us the map and the code after requesting it. It would be cool to provide this to every guest as they checked-in, and for them not to ask about it because this is good information to have."

"Just got back after a lovely 11 nights at Bonsai. The rooms are spacious and clean with large bathrooms and a modern shower. The staff are amazing! Professional, attentive and friendly. The food available was very good, something for everyone. Hats off to the chef! The bar connected to the hotel was lovely, great prices and lovely staff. Location for us was perfect. A nice beach 2 minutes away and some great bars and restaurants in the vicinity. A 20 minute pleasant stroll takes you into the main town which was much bigger than we expected. Gets busy but a lovely vibe in the evening with plenty more bars and restaurants."

Hotel Costa Caddu ★★★

"We stayed at Hotel Costa Caddu for 7 nights at the beginning of August. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, extremely clean and well-maintained hotel. We stayed in a Garden Room which had its own private veranda/porch that looks out towards the sea, which is only a 5-minute walk from the hotel. We hired a scooter for visiting San Teodoro and other nearby beaches and towns, which were mostly extremely busy because of the time of year. I imaging it must be much quieter in September and October. The hotel’s main asset is its staff – always willing to help and very friendly. One observation (as we are both vegetarians) would be to have vegetarian dishes in the buffet marked as vegetarian, a common practice in many other hotels we have stayed in. Sometimes it was difficult to know which foods on the buffet were meat free, even though they looked as if they were (but weren’t). Otherwise, the food and service is of high quality. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable holiday!"
