Hotel Amfiteatar

Most of the staff here were extremely helpful. The hotel offered a good breakfast which was continually replenished. Hot water only available from a thermos. Reception area and breakfast room interesting and modern. Extra tea/coffee available but at a charge(out of breakfast hours).No tea making facilities the room! My room was a disappoin**ent. It was dark, dingy and antiquated. Small lumpy bed. Room needed decorating and furniture needed an upgrade. My carpet although clean was a stained brown affair. The bathroom was fine. The hotel had a perfect location so i would recommend it for that and for the service. Prices a little high for the room quality.

Fresh looking hotel with griendly, welcoming staff. Nice clean quiet room. Good breakfast included. Next to the Ampitheatre and close to beach docks and town centre. Helpful when leaving and arranged taxi at a good price. Would go back again if staying in Pula.

This is a simple property (3 ☆), a short walk from the bus station. And for a tourist? 100 meters to Pula's spectacular Roman Amphitheater, and about the same in the opposite direction to the pedestrian zone of Old Town. If those characteristics suit you, then this is a great choice. The adjacent al fresco restaurant is a gem. I had the house made pasta with Istria ox. Slow-cooked. Literally, the best pasta dish I have had.

The hotel is in an ideal location, steps from the Amphitheater and less than 10 minutes walk to the town centre. The room was large, comfortable, clean with a great bathroom. Breakfast buffet had a great choice of fresh hot and cold food. Reception staff were always courteous, attentive and spoke good English.

Property was well maintained, clean, large rooms and friendly staff. Almost perfect. Breakfast was not good value with minimal/substandard offerings for what is otherwise a nice hotel

We stayed at Hotel Amfiteater for one night having flown in to Pula ahead of getting a hire car and spending a few days visiting national parks on the way down to Split. The welcome was great, the staff were really helpful. They taught us a few little phrases and words of Croatian and made sure we had adjoining rooms with the connecting door open and unlocked effectively giving us a nice suite. This worked well for us as parents and a 19 year old daughter. The location is great, right by the Amfiteater and a short stroll to the town centre. Decent car park just across the road as well

We had a great stay in the Amfiteater Hotel. The location was perfect. Just walk out the front door of the hotel, look to the right, and the amphitheater is right there. It takes about 2 minutes to walk to. We were also really close to all of the historic sites in town. We could walk to all of them easily. Plenty of restaurants were nearby too. Our room was spacious and clean. We were there for a few days and had plenty of space to just sit and relax. All of the staff members that we interacted with were friendly and welcoming. We had a rental car, and they have a small lot to park in which was nice as not all hotels in the area offered parking. I saw another review that mentioned the apar**ent building behind it and how no other reviews mentioned it, I wouldn't have even thought to mention it if I hadn't read that review. It's probably important to note that Pula is a truly unique city in that you can see the whole history of the city in just one glance. This hotel was probably built in the 19th century. The amphitheater is from ancient Rome. The apar**ent building behind the hotel looks like it is leftover from communist Yugoslavia. And the entire town looks like that. Take a few steps and you'll see ancient Rome, a few more steps and you'll see tenement buildings from the former Yugoslavia, a few more steps and you're back in the 1800s. Personally, I found this juxtaposition fascinating. There's history all over Croatia, but Pula was the only place where I felt like I could see layers and layers of history all in one place. So keep that in mind when booking this hotel. It's in the middle of 2000 years of history - literally.

Excellent location, close to the waterfront and the colosseum. Staff very friendly and helpful. Spacious room.

When making the reservation, I thought it was an apar**ent in the Amfiteatar hotel, which is located near the venue of the event I was supposed to attend in Pula. But actually, upon arrival at the Amfiteatar Hotel, I was directed to a remote apar**ent located 20 minutes' walk from the hotel. It is a private apar**ent in poor condition and has nothing in common with the hotel as shown on its website. Also, the apar**ent is located on the second floor of a private building with an elevator that is not in operation. In the morning it was not possible to sleep or enjoy breakfast due to the excessive noise from the construction work that started early in the morning.
