We spent three nights at Torre de Gomariz for some rest and relaxation after hiking a portion of the Camino Portuguese, and it was a great choice. Room was very spacious with a nice patio and huge bathroom. Enjoyed a view of the pool and the vineyards in the distance. Bed was very comfortable and it was nice having A/C for our stay. Only complaint about the room was a weird door at the back of the walk in closet that wasn't soundproofed, so often you could hear your neighbors or people walking by. Didn't want to take the car out so we ate all our meals at the property. Breakfast was excellent with both a cold buffet and choice of hot entrees - really enjoyed the pancakes with Nutella. Dinner was on the second floor of the Tower, with a good mix of Portuguese and other offerings. Servings were pretty huge, so we left full every night. It did get loud one evening as there was a tour group taking up most of the restaurant, but fortunately they went to bed earlier than us so it calmed down by dessert. Also did a wine tasting one afternoon, fun to try the various wines and really enjoyed the slight carbonization they use in the white wines. Very surprised when they gifted us with three bottles upon check-out from the hotel, and they came in handy as we were not a huge fan of the wines in Douro or Braga. The spa and pool area are a great offering, especially on rainy days when the outdoor pool isn't possible. We used the steam room and sauna every day of our stay, highly recommend reserving a visit. I also got an excellent massage on the last day of our stay as I was still a bit sore from hiking. Only other issue with our stay was an ill-timed fire alarm at 1:30 in the morning, which took a little time to shut off as most of the staff was still working a wedding. Didn't have a problem falling back to sleep, and the staff nicely gave up 15% off our spending for the inconvenience. Wasn't expecting that, and it was much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in Portugal again.

Just back from a wonderful 10 days. Highly recommend this hotel. Very welcoming, clean and helpful staff. Every staff member we dealt with was polite. Breakfast, was bountiful and fresh. Room was large, comfortable and cleaned everyday. Pool area was very busy, but we expected that. Staff did the best to accommodate. Shame, building work was going on next door! It was VERY loud. We never ate evening meal in the restaurant. Amazing location. Lots of restaurants, shops, bars on the doorstep.

What a wonderful week we had, returning again to the charming and friendly Bagoeira Hotel. We’ve been visiting for nearly 20 years, having found it by chance on a road trip through the north of Spain and Portugal. Now, we tend to take the easy flight to Porto and the hire a car for the 40 minute drive. Together with its excellent restaurant this modern and comfortable hotel, with its friendly and professional staff, offers an oasis of calm. It’s at the heart of Barcelos, by the large market area, which hosts one of the largest European markets every Thursday. The restaurant offers excellent traditional Minho food. As for most of Portugal, half portions are usually large enough. A large wine list, with a very good range of ports accompanies the a la carte and special daily dishes menus. Now Covid has gone, we shall be back more often to meet our Bagoeira friends again! David and Joan

Exceptional hotel! All at the maximum: room cleaning, staff friendly, breakfast rich with fresh and well-assorted products. Well heated ambiences despite the huge spaces; rooms with home and super large bathroom with shower and bathtub. You can't wish better! Compliments to Melia! Surely we'll come back! Outdoor free parking possibilities. The only small neo is the distance from the center, but not too far. Good staff boys!

Good space, cool, good care, however, they didn't want to borrow us two collars! Yes, they couldn't borrow us! I seemed to have a work in the room above, pq we listened to a burning noise! And we had the impression of having a party in the room next door, with music and we talking very loudly. What was resolved as soon as we talked the reception. But the fact that we didn't lend two collars left a lot to desire! We rethink once again!

Ibis a 10 minutos andando del centro. Habitación amplia para ser un Ibis. Tiene como 2 ambientes, pero solo en uno hay un solo enchufe. El baño es pequeño. Sin secador. Los recepcionistas bastantes antipáticos y no hablan español. Cerca puedes aparcar, pero hay gorrillas que te piden 5€. Yo no dejaría el coche allí, por lo que lo dejamos en un parking público a 500m con el que tiene acuerdo el hotel y cobran 10€ el día. El desayuno vale 6,5€ por persona. No merece la pena, es el peor desayuno que he visto. Solo pan, unos mini croissant, café, yogur y poco más. Muy escaso para lo que vale.

Hotel cost is very high! The rooms are large and tidy and the basic facilities are available. The location is also very good, with the train station squatting, 1 minute walk to the 😂 Although close to the train station, but also very quiet, 15-20 minutes walk from the downtown area. Service attitude is also very good, very good hotel嗷

The hotel is very good! Friendly and helpful attendants Everything very clean, doors sealed, coffee machines, juice, water, tea, cappuccino etc. Great coffee. Great 2-day stay If we need it we will definitely come back

I'll keep this short and sweet. This review is definitely affected by a couple of things that fell below our usually experience as Accor members and 1 thing that should never happen at a hotel. Check-in and check-out was good and handled by the same guy. The pool is very nice with fantastic views. The balconies in the rooms are also awesome. The suite room was so spacious and we really enjoyed it especially as a family of 3. The housekeeping made a major error when they didn't clean our room even though we turned the card over and placed it on the door requesting that our room be cleaned. We were out of the room from 10-3 pm and when we got back to put our daughter (2 year old) down for a nap, it was too late to call the front desk to request our room be cleaned and they would or should be gone by the time our daughter woke up. The breakfast was nice, again with good views. The hotel location in general is convenient. As an Accor Diamond member we didn't get a welcome gift or drink voucher (we were asked to request a drink at the bar, which caused a little logistical confusion). We would certainly stay here again, but would either ask for things missed up front or just go into it knowing that we wouldn't be receiving things that Accor ALL in their membership scheme say they give. We did enjoy FREE late checkout though. That was nice since we had an afternoon train.

Very nice location. Very beautiful view. Nice breakfast and the rooms have a good size. Bed very comfortable and has air conditioning. The staff is nice, but not as attentive as they should be in a 4 start hotel, and that is the reason why I didn’t gave a 5. They didn’t know that we paid the room online before the check in, and asked to pay again without checking for exemple. They have games room, and bar, but both weren’t open and the bar had no one to serve you, it seem that was closed.
