"Ik boekte het hotel om een nacht te blijven met mijn zoon, omdat we een lange uitdaging lopen naar Lake District. Getrust ouder, schaamteloos hotel, maar functioneel. Ontbijt oké, lieverd locatie vooral de rode squirrels. Helaas is er niet veel keuze van hotels in dat deel van de wereld."

"Just had the weekend here with friends & our dogs Maple & Marley. Pru very welcoming & helpful. Beautiful clean spacious rooms & a lovely breakfast with the dogs also getting treats! Would absolutely recommend if you are this way on. We hope to be back in the near future x"

"The room was freezing! The heating only came on for a couple of hours. The room was ok comfy bedding, not worth £175 though. The shower made a squealing noise and the bath tap dripped all night. Breakfast alright (beans were cold). The staff at the bar and restaurant were commendable."

Glendale Guest House

"stayed one night, single room £55 plus £5 for breakfast. Very good deal when compared with the competition. Located a short walk from the town centre. Parking can be an issue in Penrith, but Glendale are lucky to have a cheap public car park just a minute's walk away! Parking is free 6pm until 8am. Glendale is definitely a high quality B&B, fully refurbed mid 1800's spacious building oozes character with its decor, carefully selected furniture and adornments in the shared areas. My room was immaculate. The owners are very friendly and attentive and obviously go the extra mile to please their guests. 5* will return"

The Kings Arms Temple Sowerby

"An excellent place to stay overnight. We requested a quiet room which was at back of hotel and no traffic noise. The room was large and well appointed, with a large en-suite bathroom. Guests seemed to be those stopped on a long journey or as an overnight of a long distance walk All the staff from the first welcome, in the bar and dining area were friendly and helpful. We had dinner which was excellent, hubby had home made steak and ale pie and I had lamb en-croute, both of which were large portions, delicious and good value for money"

Abbey House B & B

"We had a lovely one night stay at Abbey House. The rooms were charming and warm, with many thoughtful touches. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean. We had a delicious full breakfast before we headed off, and a lovely chat with Vicky our host. We were so pleased with our stay -  hopefully we can come back again one day :)"
