Brooklands Guest House

This is a very special location, we booked our stay on the same day on the road up from London. Sue could not have been more welcoming! The room was clean, modern and well equiped. There is also very easy access to the pubs and restaurants in Penrith. Sue was very helpful with recommendations. This is an excellent stop-over on the journey to Scotland and we will certainly be coming again. The breakfast next morning was first class - very tasty with good choice and local produce! Highly recommended.

Brooklands Guest House, Penrith, is a lovely 5* bed and breakfast in a quiet location a minutes walk from the town centre shops, pubs and restaurants. Conveniently located close to the M6 with easy access to the Lake District, Scottish Boarders and Hadrians Wall. Brooklands is spotless throughout with a comfortable bed and wonderful breakfast cooked to order by your wonderful host Sue. Very highly recommended and would return in a heartbeat.

Beautifully decorated the room was well thought out with amenities such as a fridge, a robe and even a toothbrush and toothpaste. The beds were very comfortable and bedding was perfect. unfortunately we didn’t get up for breakfast as my friend and I had a late night meal. I can imagine the breakfast would have been beautiful.

We stayed here for one night. A warm welcome from Sue when we arrived and who showed us to our room. Went the extra mile and provided fresh milk for teas and coffees. Lovely room, very comfortable and clean. Fantastic breakfast in the morning. What more could we ask for, will definitely be back.

Lovely welcome on arrival, very clean rooms with super comfy bed. All toiletries supplied which smelt divine. Excellent choice for breakfast which was delicious. Sue booked us a nearby restaurant for supper and couldn’t have been more helpful.

Wonderful greeting and warm reception at arrival. Park at door. Walk to dinner. Very quiet neighbours. Lean and comfortable with nice treats!! Happily recommend!!

I needed a place to stay just for one night and this was ideal. It's in an ideal location in Penrith town centre. Really handy for all the local amenities. I received a lovely warm welcome from Sue and her lovely dogs. I was in the single room which was perfect for me. Absolutely everything has been thought of, various teas and coffee available. Fridges in the rooms with water and milk available. Bathroom well stocked and nothing is too much trouble for Sue. Sue will go out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. The breakfast options available are plentiful and it was delicious, best feed I've had in a long time. Gorgeous outdoor area in a lovely location which is not overlooked and nice and quiet. All in all a lovely guest house with plenty character and well worthy of its five stars. I will be booking again soon!

Where to start with this fantastic guest house! Sue is just the best host, she made me and my family feel so welcome it honestly felt like a home away from home! I stayed in the double suite and my parents the deluxe suite, both rooms were comfortable, spacious and each room had a huge selection of drinks, biscuits and a fridge that was very useful alongside a wide range toiletry extras. The guest house was completely spotless and clean with our rooms being freshened up each day. Sue provided the most delicious and wide selection of breakfast options. Nothing was too much trouble she was welcoming and always pleased to see us asking us about our days and offering great suggestions on the local area. The location was perfect for Penrith town centre alongside easy and short drives to Northern Lakes with parking either right outside the door or very reasonably priced, safe car park only a 1 minute walk away. The main point of our stay was to visit family in the local area and can say for definite we would never consider staying anywhere else when coming back to visit them in the future. Thank you Sue for making our stay so lovely - cannot wait to stay again.
