We visited for 1 night which was the first of our South Africa holiday. we really wished we could have stayed longer tot use all the wonderful facilities. Our room was beautiful, had everything we needed and was very clean. There were lots of lovely little touches that really made it for us. Arrival drink, lovely toiletries, turn service with chocolates, wine etc. The breakfast spread was also beautiful with plenty of choice as well as cooked options to order. The views match this hotel and service. It rained while we were there but that didn't spoil the views. It' also a great location to all the local shops and restaurants.

I liked Baleia. Friendly staff and check-in, even when we were a bit late. Rooms were big and had everything needed. Location and breakfast were good. The only downside is that they seem to have run out of hot water due to a big group staying there. Considering the price, not having hot water was not great, imo. We visited for 1 night which was the first of our South Africa holiday. we really wished we could have stayed longer tot use all the wonderful facilities. Our room was beautiful, had everything we needed and was very clean. There were lots of lovely little touches that really made it for us. Arrival drink, lovely toiletries, turn service with chocolates, wine etc. The breakfast spread was also beautiful with plenty of choice as well as cooked options to order. The views match this hotel and service. It rained while we were there but that didn't spoil the views. It' also a great location to all the local shops and restaurants.

Absolutely wonderful stay. The room was spotless and the service was excellent. Derek and Vanessa are very friendly and helpful and they sent a list of things to do in the area before we arrived (which I have never received from any other place we stayed at). The staircase to the rooms was slightly scary as it is made from wood so obviously moves as one climbs it - but I have a fear of hights, so it might be fine for everyone else. Had a splendid 2 night stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The staff made us feel so welcome. They are exceptionally polite and well informed on the surrounding area. We were provided with a map full of helpful suggestions, and a thorough introduction to the lodge and all it's facilities upon check-in. The lodge is located right next to Hermanus New Harbour and a few steps from the cliff path, which is well worth the walk. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It opens onto a beautiful, well maintained garden area but a few steps from the pool. Breakfast was fantastic (reccommend the Full English!), and a lovely selection of breads, cereals, fruits, cold meats, yogurts etc at the buffet. Truly, no complaints. Would absolutely stay again.

Arrival from Cape Town was very straightforward, secure parking at the back of the property. Elizma the host could not have been more helpful, she messaged before we were due to arrive to ask if we would like a dinner reservation and a whale watching boat trip. Both were fantastic. Breakfast was probably about the best ever, we are both vegetarian, Elizma cooked and baked the most amazing variety and quantity. Room was very large, comfortable and with a good shower, lovely outdoor space. Easy and beautiful walk into the town, loads to see and do. We walked the full length of the cliff path and were lucky enough to see whales from the shore. Plenty of restaurants and cafes. Thank you for a truly wonderful 3 night stay.

I liked Baleia. Friendly staff and check-in, even when we were a bit late. Rooms were big and had everything needed. Location and breakfast were good. The only downside is that they seem to have run out of hot water due to a big group staying there. Considering the price, not having hot water was not great, imo. Hopefully this won’t be an issue for other guests in the future.
