"Ik raad deze plek echt aan. Deze prijs voor het ontbijt... Het hotel is oud, maar schoon en het receptiepersoneel is erg vriendelijk. Het zou twee uur hebben geduurd om de trein van Óbidos naar Lissabon te nemen, maar ze vertelden me dat er maar één bus was. Oh mijn god, er was een bushalte op 1 minuut afstand van het hotel. Google-routebeschrijving vertelt mij dit niet. Hoe dan ook, ik ging bijna naar Lissabon nadat ik een Uber had gebeld en er 2 uur over had gedaan, maar ik nam de bus voor het hotel en ging in 1 uur naar Lissabon. Ik raad het absoluut aan. Eén nacht in een historische stad. Het is geweldig."

"De locatie was geweldig. Meer centraal kan niet. We werden vanaf het grote parkeerterrein met een golf kar met onze bagage naar het hotel in het kasteel gebracht. Prima service. Onze kamer was op de begane grond en omdat het net veel geregend had, voelde de kamer (in een kasteel geen raam) wat bedompt. Gelukkig kon je wel de kamerdeur open zetten naar een leuk plaatsje met stoeltjes ervoor en hield de regen op. Fijn bed. Fijn restaurant en heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijt."

"Een heel leuk klein hotel aan de rand van Óbidos. Een ontspannen wandeling van 12 minuten naar het centrum. De kamers zijn een beetje gedateerd, maar prima voor één nacht. Het hotel heeft een heel interessant interieur. Er is een gezellige binnenplaats met uitzicht op het landschap (je kunt 's ochtends in de verte hanen horen kraaien). Het ontbijt is redelijk, maar niet bijzonder. Tegenover het hotel is een oud aquaduct te zien."

"A recently built, modern, and very clean establishment. Room (number 3) was spacious with a very comfortable bed. No unpleasant smells from a few guests. Very easy and free street parking. Excellent Wi-Fi. A 10-minute walk from the historic center where parking is paid and can be crowded! Overall, a very pleasant surprise with unbeatable value for money. Breakfast isn't served, but at €60 a night, that's perfectly fine. Besides, that's not the purpose of this establishment. However, yes, there's no sink in the common room."

The Beachfront - Praia d'El Rey Golf & Beach Resort
"I stayed at The Beachfront for 13 days. The location is very nice and the view is beautiful. The staff at the Mare restaurant were very friendly and kind. We felt welcome every day. But the food was not good. Every day it was the same. The choice was very small. The scrambled eggs tasted like powder, and nothing changed during our whole stay. The housekeeping service was also weak. The floor was always dirty with sand, and they didn’t clean it well. We felt sand under our feet all the time. Some equipment in the room was broken and not fixed. Also, the staff in the Club House restaurant were not nice. They were rude and didn’t want to help. Another problem was the customer service. There was no flexibility. When we asked for small changes or help, the answer was usually “no” without trying to find a solution. I liked the beach and the Mare staff, but the hotel needs to improve cleaning, food quality, customer service, and the attitude of some employees."

"Our recent stay at Bom Sucesso Resort was extremely disappointing and fell far below expectations. We encountered numerous problems during our 2-day stay over New Year’s Eve: • Heating and Wi-Fi were non-functional upon arrival, and while fixed later, the Wi-Fi remained unreliable. • Staff gave absurd instructions like not moving the sofa or pressing a certain light switch to avoid disconnecting the Wi-Fi—completely impractical, especially with kids in the house. • A broken bench forced me to drive to reception for replacement chairs. • Frequent power outages left half the house without lights or electricity on New Year’s Eve. Attempts to fix this issue were temporary and ultimately failed. The most frustrating part is that these electrical issues appear to be a known problem, yet the villa was rented out regardless. Even worse, despite raising these issues during our stay, at checkout, and via email afterward, I have received no response whatsoever from the resort’s management. This lack of accountability and customer service is unacceptable. I cannot recommend Bom Sucesso Resort to anyone looking for a reliable, stress-free vacation. Avoid at all costs if you value good service and responsiveness."

"The hotel is well located in the center of the walled city of Óbidos. However, to get there, you have to pull your bags from the parking lot. Choose the paid one that is much closer. You will still have to climb stairs, both in the city and in the hotel, to find the tiny room that doesn't fit 2 people with their respective suitcases. Everything is done remotely, as you will only see a human being at a good breakfast. The hotel does not offer space to store your bags if you arrive before check-in time or leave after check-out."

"We booked one night at the hotel with a couple of friends. We had stayed at this hotel for about 5 years and enjoyed the experience so much that we decided to return this year for my husband's birthday with our two daughters (5 and 1 year old). It was, honestly, a huge DISAPPOINTMENT. While making our way to the room, the lack of maintenance was noticeable. The rooms had poorly maintained wooden structures, the garden was full of dry leaves that weren't collected… When we arrived at the room, the entrance was through a sliding door, and there's no path to it… we had to walk through mud. The cement path has a door that they told us was an emergency exit, but it's actually the entrance to the room, it's just not being used. The smell of mold permeates the clothes and is very uncomfortable at night. There was hair in the bathtub area (see photo), I couldn't even bathe the baby… We decided to have dinner at the restaurant. The food was good but the service was slow. There were practically no guests in the hotel and only one waiter. The following day we had breakfast, which left much to be desired compared to what it was a few years ago. The tables aren't set; the customers have to set them themselves. At the end of breakfast, our daughters got up and played a little in the living room, and during this time one of them fell and injured herself on a nail that was sticking out of the wooden floor. The waiter was attentive but lacked empathy for the situation. He even ripped his trousers and bled. I understand you didn't report the situation at the time. We can see that there were more nails that posed a danger in that sense (see photograph). The hotel has a greenhouse where events are held, and even the greenhouse that can be visited was 'abandoned' with remnants of wedding decorations and very poorly maintained… The fireplaces outside could be lit, inviting guests to consume at the hotel bar, but not even that… everything is very dark and neglected in the garden/outdoor area next to the pool. There are no more bicycles available for cycling around the hotel... Nowadays there are hotels nearby that are definitely worth the price of the stay, which is certainly not the case here."
