"Grote budget motel met comfortabel bed & faciliteiten. Rein in het gehele. Hoewel klein het had alles wat we nodig hadden voor een 3 nachten verblijf in Singapore. Zelfs een kleine wasmachine die onze kleren verfrisste. Het droog in de kamer terwijl we naar de dierentuin gingen. Handmatig inchecken en uitchecken via hun telefoon op de receptie. Het duurde een tijdje, maar geen probleem."

"Why is it every time we visit Oban, there's a violent storm? We'd booked for two nights but on our day of travel Mathew phoned to advise all the roads were either flooded or blocked with landslips. We agreed to try travelling the following day, which we did - it was eventful and with many detours but got there. Mathew kept in touch throughout to check our progress too, giving us updates on road closures. When we arrived, we were greeted at the door and shown our room, which was huge and very well appointed. We asked for dinner each night and I must say, the food was of the highest standard ( and I've been to a lot of top tier hotels in my day). Mathew had also arranged at my request for prosecco, flowers and chocolates to be in our room to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Dinner was preceded with a complimentary glass of sherry and coffee was in the comfortable and well furnished drawing room. We sat at the large dining table with other guests for both dinner and breakfast, so it was great that we got to meet new people throughout our stay, all of whom were lovely and also intrepid travelers. All in all, Melfort House is a top notch hotel / B&B and definitely a cut above the rest, with fantastic hospitality, awesome food and yet quiet enough to relax in traditional comfort. Thank you ! "

"Een hotel in authentieke Schotse stijl. Receptie heel behulpzaam. nette ruime kamers. Héél lekker gegeten in het gezellig en mooie restaurantzaal. Vlotte bediening ondanks veel volk. De zalm was er super lekker. Gelukkig hadden we op tijd gereserveerd, blijkbaar komen veel locals er ook eten."

"Dit is een zeer klein botica hotel, zag niet indrukwekkend voor de ingang buiten het hotel. Het moment dat we binnen gingen, het is echt gezellig en we werden gegroet door zeer warm in huis manager & gereserveerd eten tafel ook. We hebben hun ontbijt en diner genoten, zeer goede kwaliteit. Ons zorgen is dat dit hotel geen lift heeft."

"Dit is iets anders dan een paleis, omdat het zeer vergaderd is en in behoefte aan een diep schoon, hoewel het bed schoon was. Het beste over het hotel is het is gelegen op de Main Street aan de haven. Ik voel de eigenaren zeer blij om klanten te stelen van hun geld. Ik betaalde £138 voor 1 nacht als ik wanhopig was. Er was geen ontbijt inbegrepen, geen parkeerplaats, geen WiFi en geen liften, ook al zijn er 5 verdiepingen. Ik zou zeker nooit terug naar dit hotel wanhopig of niet."

"Ik kan je niet vertellen over mijn verblijf, omdat ik de verkeerde data heb geboekt. Zodra ik het ontdekte, heb ik de Oyster Inn gebeld om te annuleren, maar omdat ik Trip.com gebruikte, zeiden ze dat er niets konden doen. Ik heb op Trip.com geannuleerd en de boodschap zei dat ze het hotel hadden gecontacteerd om te bevestigen of het goed was om FOC te annuleren. Volgens trip.com, er kwam geen antwoord, dus mijn boeking was niet geannuleerd. Mijn boeking is sindsdien "voltooid". Toen ik het hotel de volgende dag contact opnam om te vragen waarom ze de annulering niet hadden goedgekeurd, zeiden ze dat trip.com gewoon om informatie had gevraagd, niet om de annulering te goedkeuren. Wie liegt? Ik zal niet meer gebruiken trip.com en heb besloten om elders te blijven in Oban."

"The warmth of the welcome when we arrived spoke volumes - we felt like we were old friends, welcomed back to a much appreciated and well run facility. We love staying here, it's our annual 'night before the ferry' place to stay and it was as good as ever. Love being able to bring the dogs with us, sit and eat fish and chips (another part of the tradition) in the dining room and sneak out early in the morning without worrying about waking up other residents as most of them are similarly heading to the ferry terminal! Slept so well, super comfy beds!"
