First time staying at idle awhile beach hotel on Negril’s seven mile beach. Location and beach access was perfect. Rooms were beautiful including private outdoor space. Front desk tries to rectify glitches ( like safe and refrigerator not working). Food at their restaurant better than average and reasonably priced. There was some miscommunication but the manager is very hands on and generous to make it up to us. Only things needed to make it 5 star was better water pressure and the Negril hospitality of free coffee in the mornings. Some staff are very friendly .., what you hope for in small hotel:)

What a gem! I chose this place for a nice quiet 40th birthday getaway. It was just what I was looking for. If you want a hotel on the beach that is quiet, clean and ideal for laying on the beach. Stay here. It’s pretty dead compared to the all inclusive hotels but that is just what I was looking for. The beach was right outside my room. I woke up and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean. The restaurant on premises has a decent selection of local and mainstream food. I tried the traditional Jamaican breakfast several mornings and it was pretty good. Prices are comparable to other locations nearby. However, there is a vast selection of restaurants within walking distance. Staff was friendly, rooms were spacious and clean with ample towels. Staff on the beach would setup umbrellas and beach chairs. Beach attendants will take your order and bring to you on the beach. I was ready to book another stay a few weeks after and they were completely sold out so act fast. Would 100% stay here again no question.

We stayed at the beach location for three days and it was quite enjoyable. The visitors and the staff were amazing and I would definitely return to this location. It’s located on a wonderful stretch of beach, and in my opinion is more classy than some of the other hotels on 7 mile beach.although I prefer their sister resort on the cliffs, I would return.

We have stayed at Idle Awhile many many times for a reason, and that is because it is the nicest place on all of Negril beach. All of the Idle Awhile properties are spectacular. The location of the beach hotel is ideal and perfect for families. The restaurant and bar there are fantastic as are the amenities. The BEST part about Idle Awhile are the staff!!! They are the most professional, dependable and delightful staff in Negril. I have traveled all over Jamaica for 30 years and can easily say that Idle Awhile has the best services Ive encountered in the country. Be sure to grab a yummy drink when Carlton is on duty at the bar! Best bartender on the island:) This is the nicest hotel in Negril and a perfect spot for a marvelous vacation.

I had an excellent week in a garden view room. Nice big patio to enjoy the tree frogs and vegetation. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping was awesome. The restaurant on site had delicious options. The lifeguards were helpful in getting chairs and umbrellas. Special shout out to some of the bar/restaurant staff as they kept an eye out for anyone who needed anything: Carleton. Rashane, Leona, Claudia and Delroy. Security always had an eye on things too. Already booked again for next November. I will definitely make this boutique hotel one of my go-to places in Negril.

I had the most wonderful time with my friends at idle awhile during my vacation in Jamaica. Staff was polite, rooms were exquisite and Xavier (Manager) was extraordinary. I would highly recommend that you stay at this location when you travel to Negril. I really enjoyed my time and will be returning with other members of my family soon. My favorite part was the cleanliness and appearance of the rooms, the restaurant was wonderful for breakfast and lunch. I couldn't recommend this place enought.

Wow, this place never dis-appoints. Between the comfortable, spotless and modern accommodations, the delicious (and reasonably priced!) food, beautiful beach and amazing staff, I don't know what I liked best. It's got to be the staff. From the security, housekeeping, even the gardener, are all such a pleasure to speak to. And this is coming from a pessimist. I know I probably sound like a shill, but it's true. The first couple nights our requested 203 wasn't available, and they put us up in a much nicer suite at the same cost. Food really is reasonable. Continental breakfast starting under $8 us, fresh fruit smoothies $5 or $6! and red *****e at $4, That's cheaper than Tony's hut, and Needle brings it to my lounge with a few laughs. Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I shouldn't brag about what a great time we had. It's going to get harder to book a room.

Idle Awhile is a jewel. This small boutique hotel outperforms in every aspect: the food, the cleanliness, peaceful ambiance, and beautiful beachfront. I stayed in the very spacious lower level "Deluxe Ocean" room with a very comfortable bed, and I slept great every night. The staff was attentive, friendly, and welcoming. As a woman traveling alone, I felt completely protected and safe at all times. A nice perk if you want a change of pace, and to swim in a pool, is that they have a free shuttle that will take you to their Idle Awhile Cliffs property in the morning and return in the afternoon. I can't wait to go back, and highly recommend if you like living life at your own pace (but book early if you're on a schedule; they only have sixteen rooms)! First and foremost I never write reviews but definitely needed to make sure I share my experience from my recent trip to help with anyone who maybe on the fence about staying here. This place is absolutely breathtaking. I chose this place after reading other reviews and I am so happy I did. The staff was so accommodating. They allowed us to check in early since we had a early morning flight in. Our room was a garden view that was super clean and spacious! The next night we were upgraded to a suite! All of their rooms were amazing! The food was good too! We ate a few nights there and had breakfast and we enjoyed everything especially the run down shrimp!! Omg that was so good! The property itself was so tropical and that's exactly what we wanted! A true authentic Jamaican vibe! The only thing that suck was the internet but honestly when you're traveling you need to unplugged so it was actually a positive! We also got to tour the Villas which is absolutely breathtaking! We plan to bring our entire family next time and stay there. Overall this was a 5 star experience! Thank you to everyone at Idlewhile Beach for helping me make my husband's 40th birthday and our 10 year anniversary a success!!
