"Het ontbijt was briljant (vooral de vruchtensalade), de kamer was zo schoon en de eigenaars waren zeer opmerkzaam, gelukkig en handig. Het is de tweede keer dat mijn zoon en ik daar zijn geweest, en ik kijk uit naar het snel teruggaan."

"Wij zijn hier vaker geweest en één ding moet gezegd worden: de mensen hier zijn ontzettend vriendelijk, behulpzaam en gastvrij. De kamers zijn prima, het eten is goed, er ontbreekt niets. Het enige dat ik niet snap is waarom er niets aan de kamer gedaan wordt. We hebben hier vier nachten geslapen, maar er is niets gedaan. Heb je handdoeken nodig o.i.d. hoef je alleen maar een papier in te vullen en dan is het er, maar de gebruikte spullen blijven liggen. De Summer Jazz Break was geweldig, dus dat maakt alles weer goed."

"Another excellent stay at the Royal Oak. Comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and very good hospitality from Jane and Steve; they always make you feel very welcome. Cosy bar with log fire and good choice of local ales. We ate there on Friday night and the food was very good and reasonably priced."

"We had booked for New Year's Eve dinner. First of all, we had to pay for the entire menu almost a month in advance. We had to choose what we wanted to eat 15 days in advance (from three options). We arrived at 8 o'clock as requested, and the waiter asked us what we would like to drink. I told him there was a welcome drink. He brought it to us reluctantly. Then everything happened very quickly. No sooner had we finished our meals than the next course was brought to us, until I asked to finish my wine calmly before dessert. The dance was in the country yard, where it was 3 degrees. Of course, no one was dancing, and to top it all off, the duck pâté wasn't fresh, which our stomachs certainly felt. In short, it was a ruined evening."
