"A lovely family run hotel. Delightful bedroom and comfortable beds. Nothing was too much trouble. Food very good and wide choice. Breakfast was superb couldnt fault it. A very efficient young lady helped the family in all departments and they all worked very hard to make out stay so pleasant. Definitely worth visiting for a stay or a meal. Thoroughly recommend. Only grumble dont arrive before 3 pm. Door was locked so we spent an hour or two in the Royal Oak next door having a good lunch. Porlock is delightful village and everyone so friendly."

We had an excellent dinner (ribs and lamb tagine) and one of the best breakfasts at a hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, even let us recharge our e-bikes in the secure shed (former stables). Great location to explore Exmoor as it’s on the doorstep. Highly recommended."
