Sadly I was in town for three summer days of 50 degree weather, clouds and constant rain. I imagine it would have been a much better stay if I had seen sunshine! The front desk people were really nice. Probably some of the best staff I've encountered on any road trip. One appeared to be in training. My room was on the 2nd floor with no elevator which kind of sucked. The motel looks a bit run down and there are large trees so there’s not a real good view of the water from the 2nd floor. They do have a fairly large area to sit by the water and you can access the water on their small beach. When I was there they had the parking in back right next to the building blocked off. Not sure why. I like being able to see my car from my room when possible and have it close to load/unload items. Maybe they do that so people downstairs aren't disturbed by cars and have a view of the lake. If so, that's cool. Was able to open the window to listen to the waves which was nice. The big disappointment was there was no freezer area in the fridge so I had to keep my coolers filled with ice to keep my ice packs cold. I was doing a lot of driving each day and needed to keep my drinks/snacks cold. Large bed, large tv. Desk area was good and set up so I could work on my laptop and still see the tv. Didn't ever seem to be anything good on tv; however, I did have a good internet connection. No working electrical plugs in the bathroom. Water pressure was great. Slept well. Kept the fan on all night to drown out any excessive noise which worked well, but there didn't seem to be any noise. That is, except for the dogs. Woke up at 7:30AM to some guys with an annoying barking dog outside. Not sure if they worked there as they had work shirts on or were guests of the hotel. They hung out until after 9AM. Plus it sounded like the people next to me had a dog. Luckily that one was fairly quiet. Could have sworn I saw a sign at the lobby that said dogs were not allowed to be unattended in the room. Theirs was. This is why there should be no pet (which we all know just means dog) friendly hotels. Dog owners are too selfish to follow simple rules. I'm there to get some sleep. Not listen to incessant barking. With all the rain that room will likely smell like wet dog for quite some time. Gross. The area was pretty convenient but difficult to make a left turn out of the parking lot. The Perkins down the street also was not open 24 hours as advertised. They closed at 8PM and had LONG wait times. I suggest looking elsewhere to eat when staying here.

I asked last minute to be upgraded to a jacuzzi suite and they upgraded us for free! I was shocked! Hotel is CLEAN and nice staff. Will definitely stay again. They let our dog upgrade too. I worry about rooms with dogs as I’ve been stuck in hotel basements with my dog. Not here! She got to be a princess too❤️
