"1. Almost no hot water. 2. We went whale watching in the morning, packed our luggage in advance, and told the front desk that we needed to be back before 11 am to shower upstairs. We also asked them to keep the key safe, and that we would check out if we were late. Good grief! We arrived at the hotel a little after 10:15 am, and they had already cleaned everything and then took us upstairs, expecting us to shower in another guest's vacated room?! This is absolutely terrible!"

"Mijn eerste ervaring bij Niira hotel was super. We werden opgewacht en het personeel gaf gelijk ons het gevoel van thuiskomen. Het is een prachtig hotel, heeft 3 verdiepingslagen en alles is met heel veel zorg ingericht. Heel schoon, prachtige kamers, mooi uitzicht op de zee. En een groot, schoon, mooi zwembad. Ik werd in de avond niet goed en ik kreeg van het personeel een koffie met limoen en nog iets wat goed hielp tegen de misselijkheid. De volgende dag kreeg ik mijn aanval (FNS = Functionele Neuroligisxhe Stoornis) en iedereen pakte het heel adequaat op, ondanks ze niks van mijn stoornis af wisten. Echt super gedaan. Ik lag op de grond bij de trap en werd opgepakt en kreeg de gelegenheid rustig bij te komen op de bank. Een vriendelijke vrouwelijke personeelslid bleef bij mij zitten totdat ik weer helemaal bij kwam. Ondanks de tijd verstreken was om het hotel te verlaten, werd hier niet moeilijk over gedaan. Ook dacht ik mijn fotocamera kwijt te zijn en hierbij hielpen ze me goed. Had ik gewoon netjes in de kluis gelegd. Stom van me, was het helemaal vergeten. Ik ben het team heel dankbaar!!! Het hele team heeft een dikke 10 verdiend. Echt een paradijs om hier te zijn. Het enige min puntje is het lawaai in de avond vanuit het uitgaansgebied bij het strand. Maar daar heeft Niira hotel voorzorgsmaatregelen getroffen, bij je bed liggen oordopjes. Je zult geen spijt krijgen om bij Niira hotel te verblijven. Dus gewoon ... boeken."

"As the first person to write a review, I'll say right away: I absolutely recommend staying here! This hotel is wonderful in every way, from the service to the secluded atmosphere. The breakfasts are excellent – even with just one main menu, there's still a good selection. I was surprised by how well-stocked the room was: I'm not talking about the mini-bar and drinking water, but the bathroom, which has absolutely everything you need, including perfumed toiletries. The conditioner, shampoo, body lotion, and scrub are all fantastic quality. The room is incredibly spacious, and the shower is wonderful. It matches the photos and description 100%. I want to thank the staff for their hospitality, the manager and owner for their smiles and morning chats, and the chef for the excellent cuisine and for helping with a special personal request. It's very close to the coastline, with restaurants, beach clubs, and shops nearby. It was my first time in Sri Lanka, and I have to say, in some ways, I liked this hotel even more than the island itself. Rating: 10/10. I will definitely be back!"
