"We stayed overnight in the outside rooms. These are spacious and clean and good for a dog. The car park is spacious but the entrance is narrow though the yard. We ate in the pub. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was OK. They were busy on a Sat night so food took a while to come. I’d recommend booking. They don’t do breakfast but the Summer Cafe up the road is great. The breakfasts and ambience are lovely. Go early as it’s popular."

"Dit Free House pub is zeer onlangs onder nieuw lokaal beheer gekomen en wordt nu niet langer door Butcombe Brewery gevoerd, wat goedkoper voedsel en drankprijzen voor de plaatselijke bevolking betekent. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en welkom en onze drie terriers hebben zich snel onder een stevige kaarsenliet tafel belegd. Mijn vrouw en ik werden snel geserveerd en bevolen de kip zondags toast, die heerlijk gevolgd werd door Lemon kaaskak met raapberry couli en meragon."
