I went to the hotel on Wednesday September 16th for my birthday on the 17th. I was warmly greeted at the the Front desk by Amiel. Who advised me that we had been upgraded which was a great surprise. I also requested that I get a room on the ground floor as I did not want to deal with the stairs and he quickly accommodated my request. My room was very lovely and gave me the right setting for my birthday. I found the service excellent and the workers were very helpful and friendly especially Marviet aka Ms Hanover one of the servers at the Breakfast and Lunch buffet. She was caring and very pleasant and made us feel very special when she served us. The supervisor came and checked on us each time ensuring we were well cared for, she also got the ladies to sing Happy Birthday for me at lunch time and gave me a nice slice of cheese cake. The food was generally very good. I loved the variety and the choices they gave us eventhough they were reduced because of the effects of COVID_19 on their bookings. I also used the Spa service which was just great, Tamara the young lady who did my massage was top notch. I felt very relaxed afterwards. I also enjoyed the activities on the beach and of course Bingo with Jason and Ann-marie who took the time to sit and chat with us about the hotel activities. I was really impressed with how the staff all wore their masks and everyone ensured that we followed protocol regarding COID-19 procedures I did not feel at risk. I really want to thank the staff for making my birthday a very special one for me with great memories despite having to deal with COVID-19.

I was thrilled to experience Jamaica for the first time, and as it happens we were extremely fortunate to have our stay at Sunset at the Palms in Negril. From our initial welcome by Tobian on the concierge team, to our last day exit the experience was top-notch. I highly recommend the resort. Everyone contributed to our enjoyment and appreciation for the beautiful country of Jamaica and our lovely resort, but to add some specific names, we thank Tobian, who gave us our first impression of the resort's quality, Cleon, who was heading the concierge team for our stay, and Andre, Aldain, Sashana, and Tafari who were also a part of the concierge team and were always there to lend a helping hand; Kadian McPherson front desk manager, the sous chef Chef Myrie, also Chef Kenroy, Chef Fitzroy, Chef Sheldon, Mrs. Barrett, and the entire restaurant staff who made all of our dining experiences memorable and delectable. We appreciate Mr. MacFarlane and the security team for keeping us safe during our stay. Our thanks also to Ms. Allen, Mr. Jackson, and the housekeeping team for keeping up our accommodations during our visit. We learned so much during our on-site botanical gardens tour from head gardener Lynford, his expertise aided our enthusiasm for the lovely plants, flowers, and birds we observed. I was able to receive an impromptu swimming lesson gratis from Clavon at the pool, and my thanks to him for his suggestions to improve my fitness. I do not have names,but thank you to the gentlemen and ladies who staffed poolside bar, especially the gentleman working the day of 7 August 2022. Also thank you to the other bartenders who also provided us with lovely beverage concoctions. On our excursions to YS Falls and Black River (highly recommended) our driver Mr. Sinclair was a literal fount of knowledge, not only providing a singularly smooth ride, but also giving us detailed information about the parishes and towns we passed through, and making our day trip the most memorable and delightful. Thanks also to Lacia at the gift shop, we purchased some needed items there, and quality was high. We enjoyed some entertaining nights on site as well, with the inimitable piano playing skills of Paul, who has a vast and varied repertoire that we were able to enjoy. I could go on and on! We definitely would love to return in the future! Thank you so much Sunset at the Palms for such a fabulous first stay in Negril, Jamaica!

Excellent staff from the Wayne the shuttle driver to the front desk clerks Mervina and Beverly and the activities clerk Marsha. Housekeeping and bell hops gave excellent service. Housekeeping surprised me with a beautiful birthday surprise designed with flowers and towels on my bed!! Very clean modern room with large flatscreen had firestick tv steaming! Fridge wasn’t working properly and hot water kept going out but it was fixed quickly. Ice bucket / coffee pot present but must get ice from restaurant. Dining staff very accommodating. Food was ok. Breakfast is complimentary with local menu mixed with American items. Loved eating overlooking the spectacular views of the ocean and planes flying in nearby at MJB airport. Lunch and dinner not comp. I ate down the cul de sac at Peppa’s Restaurant which had amazing food. Property interior is very nice and the views leading to the ocean overlooking the tourist areas spectacular! One can see the The hotel sits on a hill so ging to and from tourist activities like the hip ***** and other tourist attractions nearby is 1.5 miles walking but a 30 min walk around and down the hill. BUT THE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE TOURIST ***** SHOULD BE COMPLIMENTARY. I spent most of my money on shuttle service which only was less then 2 miles!! Each way is $20!!! Free shuttle service should be offered only to the main ***** because it is dangerous walking around a hilly terrain faced with speeding cars and trucks. The location on the map is somewhat deceiving. It’s best to rent a car just to go down the hill. Hopefully shuttle service will change soon and service ran periodically at least 2 times an hour to the ***** and back.

We have stayed at this wonderful hotel for the fifth time since 2011. The property is barely 30 meters wide and maybe 200 deep. A small footpath meanders through the complex. A few older bungalows and also newly built ones, which sometimes have two or three floors. These buildings are reminiscent of Venice in color and are decorated with beautiful wooden structures. The stairs are also made of wood. Countless palm trees and other trees run through the entire area. Like a small jungle. We have not stayed in a nicer facility in the whole world and the world is big. The new rooms are very comfortable, the older ones are no less pleasant. The bathrooms are slightly smaller than those in the new rooms. The room service is great, the maids very reliable. We are here for 4 weeks this year. It is therefore of particular importance that the mattresses are good. And they are awesome. The rooms all have a fridge, a kettle and a container where you can get ice cubes. The breakfast, see photo, is very simple, tailored to American standards. But toast, butter and various egg dishes were enough for us. There are about 30 rooms in the hotel and sun loungers on the beach, which are very aesthetic and comfortable. About 15 umbrellas, but they are completely sufficient, because there are also a good stock of trees in the sun garden and plenty of tree shade. More palm trees have been planted and will provide more shade. There are various beach vendors, we love the food and drink offer, but they are really not pushy and are not allowed in the area of the sun loungers. I like to repeat myself, the facility is awesome. The maids have been here for a very long time, we always find the rooms very, very clean. The WiFi system works very well. The COVID rules, especially wearing a mask and disinfecting hands, are well observed. Additional points have been set up with sinks and disinfection. The beach is awesome too. Very clean Caribbean sand. You go into the water with a slight slope, no coral, no stone and no sea urchins. The perfect beach, which also stretches several kilometers along the sea as if pulled by a string. Lots of options for a drink. And Negril is to the west, which means there's a sunset every day. You can go to elegant West End restaurants in Negril, but you can also pick up simple fare at stands, jerk chicken is a hit here. If you don't want to eat at the hotel. (Cesar's salad with chicken here is world class, calamari rings not really) Cash, ie US dollars or Jamaican dollars, you can get them at any cash machine (ATM) with an EC card. The courses are almost without fees, in contrast to the credit card. This was my second time at the hotel, the first in 2019. The rooms have deteriorated with a very strong smell of damp. After some heavy rain during my stay, i saw water running down the walls - my room was on the 3rd floor. The food, save for at the Indian and Posidan Al a carte restaurants were mediocre at best. On the positive side most of the staff were a joy to interact with. The location is amazing as is Sunset cove beach which is my favourite spot. The entertainment had improved tremendously from the DJ's to the singers. Such exceptional talent. Unfortunately I do not think I'll book a third stay due to the conditions of the room despite the cost and the phenomenal expense of transportation should you wish to leave the resort
