De meest positieve opmerkingen zijn: het authentieke gebouw, de goede service, grote kamer, het prima ontbijt. Negatief is de ligging aan een drukke weg zonder mogelijkheid van wandelen en fietsen, het zwembad wat erg pikte aan de ogen (urine), de erg kleine badkamer met een douche van 65! cm.

Houd er rekening mee dat de foto's op deze site absoluut niet contractueel zijn voor dit hotel. Ondanks de teleurstelling dat je in een slaapkamer op zolder terechtkomt. Het hotel is mooi en het ontbijt is heerlijk. Het plezier van een nachtje verblijven in een historisch etablissement is superleuk. De parkeerplaats is veilig. De indrukwekkende woonkamer. Wij adviseren.

An absolute gem of a villa - or palazzo? - it's in a tremendously peaceful and beautiful setting. Fascinating architecture and friendly staff, fine buffet breakfast with gluten free bread etc on request. Not terribly easy to find the entrance at night - but that is honestly my only criticism. It's a perfect base to explore the area from, a short drive to Lucca (park outside the walls and walk in). If we visit again we'll spend time in the grounds and enjoy the swimming pool.

I can not tell you how amazing this hotel is. 12th century villa. Stunning. Grounds are gorgeous. Location is perfect. Close to both Lucca and Pisa and Florence. Free breakfest was great. Rooms comfortable. Bathroom newly renovated. 10-10

We stayed here for 2 nights with a bus tour group. The location is a bit out of Lucca but in a very picturesque location. There was a pool and pretty garden areas but we were unable to use the pool because of very short hours. The main villa is very beautiful and common areas were interestingly decorated. Our room was in the annex and was small with trees right outside the window. The decor was very dated and the bedspread looked like it was from the 1970's. The room was dark and uninviting but appeared clean. The shower/tub worked well and the bathroom had better lighting. We had dinner here one night with our tour and the food was not very good. Service took forever, and I gave up on dessert and went to bed over sitting there for more than 2 1/2 hours. Breakfast was decent with a lot of choice, but the room was crowded with a poor layout for serving. It was a unique location but rooms could use a major overhaul.

Probably our favourite hotel anywhere. It has a gorgeous swimming pool and charming garden, delightful service and light and airy public rooms in a historic villa 5 minutes drive from Lucca, 35 minutes (or less) from Pisa airport. We have stayed here perhaps 20 times over the years. It's worth while paying for the better rooms in the villa itself - they all have something unique as well-being more spacious. We never regret it.

The Hotel is a hidden gem in Tuscany. from the moment you step in you feel at home ..We were only able to stay one night but. Felt like it was a week. Great location and lovely pool and gardens but the secret are the staff.The manager Laura and her colleagues are exceptional people, who are in charge of a historic villa. The rooms are wonderful, each different and the quality of the food, service and overall experience makes this Hotel one of the best.We look forward to coming back! Thank you

We love staying at the Villa La Principessa. From the moment you drive up to the front door, you feel welcomed into a peaceful and elegant property. We have stayed there for many years (actually since 1987) and it is always great. The rooms are lovely, the grounds are beautiful, and the swimming pool is welcome in the summer. Sylvia Ferrari has always made us feel special when we arrive. The restaurant serves delicious food for dinner as well as a comprehensive breakfast. Fabulous spot.

We were looking for a peaceful, comfortable few days in the Lucca area, Villa La Principessa, worked a treat. Sylvia and her team made our 4 day stay a pleasure, the building is beautiful as are the grounds and pool, being around 4km from Lucca it was a little remote. Taxis from Lucca, a bit tricky, but Sylvia was on hand to solve the transport problem (no Uber) by arranging transfers. Thanks again to Sylvia, we will be returning.
