Hotel Porto Plaza Beach Resort ★★★★

"Dit hotel, dat zich als een 4* aanbiedt en door DERTOUR wordt aangeboden, kan volledig worden aanbevolen. We kunnen in beginsel niet akkoord gaan met een aantal beoordelingen dat de gastronomische diensten niet tot de standaard behoren. Het menu wordt uitgevoerd in de vorm van een buffet en iedereen kan hier kiezen naar smaak in elke hoeveelheid. De dienst is zeer vriendelijk. De kritiek op het gebrek aan cutlery, glas en China is ook niet waar: van dranken zijn er jus van witte en rode wijn, bierkoekjes, een fles water, cola en sinaasappelsap en koffie voor ontbijt. Voor sommigen kan het een school cafetaria oproepen, maar ze hebben waarschijnlijk nooit het echte ervaren. Het is een zacht alle inclusive en daarom zijn slechts bepaalde dranken zoals bier, wijn en zachte dranken in de prijs opgenomen. De accommodatie is moderne kamers met een standaard hotel stijl met een kleine koelkast, een koelkast, een ketel, een haardroger en een badkamer in de badkamer, die niet gebruikelijk is in 4* hotels in Tsjechië. Elke kamer heeft een eigen balkon met uitzicht op de zee. Het enige kleine probleem is de toegang tot het hotel, omdat het op een heuvel ligt, die de bus na de rijweg niet kan omgaan en dus op de weg ongeveer 100 m onder het hotel stopt. De meeste hotels en bungalows hier zijn gelegen in de heuvels. Het eiland is vrij bergachtig, dus de toegang tot de receptie is te verwachten. Het strand hier is klein met slechts twee rijden van parasols en zonnebedden (zij zijn gratis, of voor een rampe), maar het is niet volledig bezig en de zee ... verbazingwekkend ...."

"This was our second time staying at Lemnos with Mark Warner and the reason we returned for a second time was how great the first stay was. Unfortunately our recent stay didn't live up to the first visit two years prior. It was glaringly obvious from the moment we arrived that they were short staffed and we were told at the introductions that because of this some of the activities that were advertised as part of the holiday would no longer be on offer. We were told on several occasions by the staff to "bear with us" as they informed us of missing staff or cancelled activities. Activities that were slimmed down or cancelled included; tennis lessons, limited cycling tours, all introductory water front activities. As a family with little sailing experience we were hoping to get up and running with the introductions and initial lessons that were on offer the previous time we stayed as we didn't feel comfortable just jumping in a boat and figuring it out, especially with challenging wind conditions on the first few days. Part of the appeal of a Mark Warner holiday is having the guidance and tuition available to get you on the water even as a beginner. While the staff tried their best given the circumstances it was clear they didn't have enough staff available to encourage beginners on the water and to give them the help and guidance they needed. What compounded the frustration was the arrival of the missing staff members on the Thursday, the day before we were due to leave. They began putting up boards with information of all the classes and inductions that would be available the following week. Mark Warner chooses to raise their prices during the May half term comparable with prices during peak summer season while those that can travel the following week will get the same holiday at half the price but with twice the facilities and opportunities available. For our family this kind of holiday is a real treat and one we have to save and work hard for, it's not something that we can do every year and we had think very hard as to whether we could afford it this year. I feel like we wasted our money and didn't get the experience we had saved so hard for. The final letdown is the complete silence from the Mark Warner customer services team who haven't replied to any emails to address the above issues. Complete lack of customer service."
