Le Club Boutique Hotel

At the center of the old town. Small but lovely hotel. Good for travellers staying here for a night.

Dit charmante, kleine hotel is perfect gelegen in de oude binnenstad van Lecce en heeft veel dingen om over op te scheppen. Het ontwerp van de plek - openbare ruimtes, dakterras, individuele kamers - is uitzonderlijk. Het is bijna te goed voor mensen. Wees zelfs voorzichtig om uw bagage niet op het bed te leggen, want de hoes is een fijn vervaardigde stof die gemakkelijk blijft haken en dat komt op uw rekening. Hoewel ze opscheppen over gratis wifi, moet je inloggen op hun internetsysteem, wat geen veilige verbinding is en niet aan te raden als je gevoelige computerinformatie hebt. Ik probeerde de man van de receptie op dit punt te betrekken, maar hij wilde er niets van weten. Dat brengt me bij de service van het hotel: met uitzondering van mijn check-in en op een avond, elke keer dat ik het hotel binnenkwam, was de receptie onbezet, net als het restaurant. Toen ik incheckte, na te hebben gewacht op een paar om voor me in te checken, verdween de man van de receptie, schreeuwend om het kamermeisje terwijl ik hem de ene verdieping na de andere kon horen klimmen. De bedden zijn ongemakkelijk, wat een nationaal kenmerk lijkt te zijn. Het dakterras is goddelijk en als je een kamer krijgt, probeer deze dan op de 2e verdieping te krijgen, zodat je er gebruik van kunt maken. De douche was een bizar Nederlands deurapparaat dat vaak de badkamer zou overstromen (hoewel ik mijn best deed). Ik zou de eigenaren adviseren om meer aandacht te besteden aan hun klanten en hen misschien in gedachten te houden bij het nemen van ontwerpbeslissingen over de kamers. Alleen omdat een kamer goed fotografeert, wil nog niet zeggen dat het comfortabel is.

    Dirty is the word. Should have listened to other reviewers about the cleanliness of this hotel and the rude staff. So, firstly, our greeting at midday as we walked into this not so easy to find hotel was ‘you’re too early for checkin’. My absolute pet hate greeting. Not a greeting at all. As I then explained to the ‘gentleman’ behind the counter, I can tell the time. All we wanted to do was to leave luggage. What ever happened to ‘let’s see what we can do?’ As we all know not all hotels run at 100% every night meaning there may be empty clean rooms. Okay, so the lack of lighting in the bedroom we can almost cope with. No overhead lighting at all. Just three lamps. iPhone torch essential to try and work out how to use the air conditioning. The air conditioning doesn’t really work anyway. The lack of light in the bathroom is a bigger worry. Again no overhead lighting just the flickering backlight behind the mirror. But perhaps low lighting is not a bad idea given the cleanliness of the bathroom, more on that later. Lack of lighting in the bathroom is unacceptable. The shower screen in the bathroom makes no sense the way it works, designed for thin people only. Not acceptable. The shower head is wrong design and the holder is broken and so just doesn’t work. Therefore the shower head has to be handheld which we do not find convenient at all. Not acceptable. Marks/stains on the very thin threadbare towels, not acceptable. But the cleanliness of the bathroom was the real worry. Wiping the floor, on day one, with the bath mat turned it brown as in faeces brown. But let’s give them a chance. So next day, in theory after the room has been cleaned, there are still those unidentified brown marks on the wall by the toilet paper holder. You can decide what they are. The toilet seat is poorly attached and moves. Not acceptable. Curtain rails but no curtains? Who took the curtains? Breakfast was reasonable. The guy, Nicola, serving coffee at breakfast was very good. Rooms were small. Have I mentioned the tiny black creatures that look like ants on the bedside table? I just hope they are not bed bugs. Check our guy was almost friendly and pleasant. Thanks to him. I must finish. Would we ever stay there again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it? Absolutely not. Would I ask for my money back. Yes! Would I ever get it? I guess not!!

As a budget hotel option we were prepared for the rooms not to be amazing - and they were fine - but we didn’t reckon on the hotel-wide aircon system to not work properly in the two rooms we were offered. It seemed as if they knew it was a problem but had no solution. We eventually had to book another hotel for the last night as the heat has been in excess of 40 degrees every day. If you advertise air con then please supply it in a fully functioning state. No sleep for 4 nights = unhappy guests.

In itself a great room, but I could not discover what was "boutique" about it. The shower drain and sink did not drain. I always find that so annoying ... The hotel was in the middle of Lecce! That is an absolute plus. Breakfast with a lot of choices.

Great location near piazza duomo and the othermain piazza. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Everything was nice except the mattress was way to firm for me. Walkable to entire centro storico.

Basicly ok, but very poor wifi, which is nowadays unacceptable. Breakfast is avarege, we had better and worse as well. Location is perfect. Staff is very kind.

Nice staff. One of a kind hotel. Perfect location. Clean.

The location was excellent, room was comfortable, and staff was friendly. Just what I needed for a relaxing weekend away.
