Hotels in Lebec

I have stayed at this property in the past and loved it. This time I was a little disappointed. I arrived at night and the staff that checked me in seemed irritated. I did not get the room I wanted, because they stated I booked 3rd party. We made it work! Our shower made a loud noise, very loud while each of us showered, like a squealing, howling noise. In the morning they have items to take away for breakfast, like prepackaged muffins, granola bars, apples, bananas, and of course coffee. Oh, also orange juice. My granddaughter enjoyed the pastry and juice. I just wish they had more options for people who are Vegan. I opted for black coffee and a banana. Overall it was decent for a night stay.

My wife and I stayed at this dump on 12/30/21. The hotel is now and has been under renovation construction for a long time read from previous reviews. Wish we had known this before we booked. The blonde haired lady at the front desk who checked us into room 124 was pleasant and cordial; however, she put us in a room directly under a room being renovated while the hotel was not fully booked. When we were made aware of this fact by the sound of hammering and construction equipment, I went to the front desk to ask the clerk if she could do something about the noise keeping us awake. The blonde haired lady was not there, but another clerk was there (Justine). Justine did not really show much interest in hearing my concern. When I engaged her with my polite request to put a stop to the noise, she informed me that construction crews were authorized to work up until 7 pm (though the hammering stopped after 7 pm, we could hear what sounded like light construction and foot traffic stomping around above us at 1 am). Justine was pretty rude in that as I stood at the counter requesting her assistance, she would not offer up any dialog but rather she stared into her computer monitor and typed away without showing me the courtecy of looking me in the eye and offering up dialog. I explained that I needed to get to sleep now for an early morning departure, but she pretty much just shrudged her shoulders and said that she couldn't do anything about it. I requested that she refund our money and that we would be on our way, but she responded that she was not authorized to do that and that I would need to talk to the manager who would be in the following morning. Onto the room critique: A faint smell of urine could be detected in the entryway. The room and bathroom were dark and dingy (missing light bulb in the bathroom). No microwave in the room. The hallway leading to our room had duct tape across the floor holding down the carpets. The cost for this horrible experience was $133 and change. We have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express hotels nationwide and this one rates at the bottom of the list. It seems that HIE quality control is hit or miss. It just depends on the individual hotel owner. My advise is to my fellow Tripadvisor travellers would be to continue on beyond Lebec to a more populated location such as Santa Clarita southbound or Wheeler Ridge or Grapevine northbound and AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Comfortable and cheap motel , for the price is good, must complete the restructuring species of the outside. Comfortable to pass but not to support. Internet was not accessible

Very clean rooms. Bed was wonderful and quiet room. This room had some of the best quality toilet paper of any hotel I have stayed in. Staff was friendly. Did not partake in the breakfast offered. I read another review stating the tv did not work. Had that issue and the front desk clerk came to the room and fixed it. Seems that the cable box gets unconnected from power when the rooms are cleaned.

Just north of ”The Grapevine” or Tejon Pass between LA and all of I-5 CA, this property is close to the outlet shops. There is fast food and a Starbucks in walking distance (same parking lot). This new Hampton was a step up from the last generation of buildings, I much prefer the rooms in the newer buildings for size and configuration. The new properties have much better allocation of space for morning food service. The entire hotel is brighter and has better and more lighting. The feel is just better and cleaner. This continues in the rooms as well. I like that the bed faces the window. I stay here again as it is workable for some of my regular trips. It is a bit pricier than Bakersfield, but then again there are few choices right here.
