We had the most incredible time staying at this hotel. No, it is not a 5 star chain hotel and thank goodness for that, as it would then lose all of its alpine charm. From check in to check out, the service we received was friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was comfortable and clean with an amazing view of the slopes. The proximity to the lifts cannot be beat, we loved walking straight back, putting our gear away and settling in front of the fire with a hard-earned drink. We loved our breakfast at Cascades restaurant which was hearty and perfect fuel for a day on the mountain. My now-fiancée and I got engaged on this trip and the bar staff sent us complimentary glasses of champagne to help us celebrate which was a really lovely gesture. We will most certainly be back and can’t thank all the wonderful staff enough!

My girlfriends and I stayed at Candlelight recently on a quick girls ski trip. We really couldn’t have had a better experience. Annie and her staff are amazing. Four of us shared a lovely family room, which was clean and cosy. The daily breakfast was amazing... get the porridge, it’s fab. We dined in house on our first night and had a delicious dinner and nothing was too much trouble. Annie looked after us when we skied after check out, taking care of our stuff and letting us use their facilities to shower and change. Generous common areas in the bar and dining room as well as a sauna are an added bonus in this sweet little hotel. We will definitely be back. Thanks Annie and all the lovely Candlelight staff! My girlfriends and I stayed at Candlelight recently on a quick girls ski trip. We really couldn’t have had a better experience. Annie and her staff are amazing. Four of us shared a lovely family room, which was clean and cosy. The daily breakfast was amazing... get the porridge, it’s fab. We dined in house on our first night and had a delicious dinner and nothing was too much trouble. Annie looked after us when we skied after check out, taking care of our stuff and letting us use their facilities to shower and change. Generous common areas in the bar and dining room as well as a sauna are an added bonus in this sweet little hotel. We will definitely be back. Thanks Annie and all the lovely Candlelight staff! We had the most incredible time staying at this hotel. No, it is not a 5 star chain hotel and thank goodness for that, as it would then lose all of its alpine charm. From check in to check out, the service we received was friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was comfortable and clean with an amazing view of the slopes. The proximity to the lifts cannot be beat, we loved walking straight back, putting our gear away and settling in front of the fire with a hard-earned drink. We loved our breakfast at Cascades restaurant which was hearty and perfect fuel for a day on the mountain. My now-fiancée and I got engaged on this trip and the bar staff sent us complimentary glasses of champagne to help us celebrate which was a really lovely gesture. We will most certainly be back and can’t thank all the wonderful staff enough!

What a super find. Greeted by Matt in the snow car on arrival at the Ski tube, we were taken to our lovely accommodation. A room with a view, en-suite and an extra sink in the bedroom made it easy to have a his and hers getting ready time. The bed was comfy and the rooms offer two radiators for extra heat if needed. The lodge was quiet at night which allowed a good sleep after a big day in the snow. Breakfast which comprised on a buffet style with cereals, GF or ordinary bread for toasting. Juices. Tea and coffee and a variety of hot breakfasts on offer all included in the great value deal. Lunch was a selection of meats and cheeses with salad and bread to make sandwiches etc. The three course evening meals were magnificent. The Chef Louanne was superb. Standard, vegetarian and Vegan choices were all available. Beautifully created with a flair for presentation as well as some great new flavours. How about Chai Poached pear with soy ice cream. Oh my gosh I can still taste this it was delicious. They also offer a terrific selection of wines and the bar serves a lovely apres ski cocktail or aperitif before dinner. Special coffees can also be ordered at any time and added to your tab. Social distancing was respected and taken very seriously with extra measures in place to avoid unnecessary contact with others or handling of buffet food. I was unlucky enough to have had an accident from another skier and a Matt could not have done more to help us if he had tried. The staff were so cheerful and kind and we really loved our stay here. I’ll be back. Thank you so very much. Flowers from Tattisalls on my arrival home made my day. Thank you.
