The Sherton Hotel in Kagoshima was an absolute gem of a hotel! This is our first visit to Japan, and we are admittedly nervous about the language barrier and cultural change from the US. From the moment we checked in, the staff has bent over backwards to make sure we are comfortable and have done a fantastic job to make this stay completely comfortable and enjoyable. The location is perfect right at the center of downtown Kagoshima, and the rooms, restaurants, and common spaces have more in common with a Four Seasons than with what is standard Sheraton in the US. We were not able to take advantage of the spa, but the Onsen (Hot Springs Sauna) was so relaxing and rejuvenating — especially after 26 hours of flights to get here! HIGHLY recommended. Thank you to the staff that has helped make our 4 days in Kagoshima a memorable experience! Now off to Hiroshima!

I am currently staying here on my way to Yaku Island. After being here for awhile, I am already used to the quality of Japanese service and this place measures up to those standards. Though a bit long in the tooth, my small single room was clean, with wifi, frig, telebi, and quiet. The onsen was small but old style which I like and the water was hot enough and the facility clean. Towels were provided also. It was on the top level which was nice. The front desk folks were efficient and spoke adequate English to a non-Japanese speaking Japanese American. I asked for a non-smoking room when I booked and it was provided. It overlooks a beautiful Shinto shrine and a nice park is across the street. It is close to the Tenmonkan area with lots of restaurants and convenience stores. Pleasantly surprised and happy this worked out.

It is a business hotel located in the downtown Tenmonkan in Minami Kyushu, but it was only called ”Rem”, and I was able to sleep well as rarely for me to sleep until I was woken up by the alarm clock. The city trams and buses are running on the road right in front of me, but I didn't care about the noise at all. １ I had breakfast at the talis in the building because it was breakfast for the night, but it was quite well organized and substantial. I was able to choose from hot dog pancake toast.

Opposite the Yamagata house, the location is not bad, but it is a little bit far from the planetarium. The Richmond brand is still trustworthy. The front desk was also bright and the room was clean and I was able to stay comfortably. This time, I used an economic single (a small room facing the building) that was more worthwhile than a single room, but I think it's enough to sleep. Free service breakfast is also similar to other Toyoko INN, but it was delicious.

2023年4月10日利用。 場所は鹿児島の繁華街でもある電停(路面電車)天文館の駅前で、バスの停車前にもありランドマーク的な存在だとも言えるかと思います。 確かに1階にはショッピングモールがあったり、最近のホテルという感じで、改装か新築された印象で館内は綺麗でした。 構造は7階がフロントで、8階から14階が客室。15階がレストランで朝飯もこちらになり、天気の良い日は桜島も見え、鹿児島らしい地元の料理が出た点では文句無いかと思います。 しかし減点となったのは以下の点 ●ホテルの車止めが無いところ 駐車場が少し離れたところにあるため荷物がある場合、どうしても車止めは必要かと思います。もう構造上仕方ないのですが、車で来た場合重い荷物を運ぶのにはやや辛いかなという印象を受けました。 ●提携駐車場がやや遠い チェックアウトの時晴れてる(雨天ではない場合)なら特段問題ないのですけど、雨が降っていたらややキツいかなと言う印象を受けました。 ●朝のレストラン 内容は問題ないのですが名物「鶏飯」(けいはん)目当てに来ている宿泊者が多いと思います。 しかし、補充が足りないというか出汁と米だけ残っており、具材補充の頻度が遅いかなという印象。 食材を大切にする気持ちは理解しますけど少し疑問が ●廊下の音響問題 たまたまなんですけど夜23時頃の話。 フロント階にタバコを吸いに行った時、廊下を歩いていると他の室内からですが中の音が聞こえて来たのには少し閉口してしまいました。 場所柄もあるのか解りませんが所謂オトナのお遊びの音なんですけど、防音はもう少し何とかして欲しいかなと感じました。 色々書きましたが、基本室内もレストランも綺麗ですし鹿児島では悪くないレベルのホテルかと思います。 確かに鹿児島では城山とかサンロイヤルが有名ですけど、便利性、値段を勘案するとこの先良いホテルになるのではないかと期待しております

The hotel is in the most convenient planetarium block for eating, drinking and playing. The room is not big but it is clean. There are buses nearby to and from the airport. It takes only ten minutes to go to the beach to see Sakurajima Volcano. It is not far from AEON. There is a streetcar downstairs.

Wi-Fi was also easily connected and was available without problems. There is also a personal computer loan and is perfect for business trips. The public bath uses Fine Ten Water, and those with sensitive skin will feel the effects immediately. I also found Refa's shower head to be very comfortable to use, probably because the water pressure was higher than what I use at home. Use the hair dryer and your styling will look better than usual. Also, the room was equipped with a clothes deodorizer, and I was curious about this home appliance, so I was glad I was able to try it out.
