Mount of Olives Hotel

Het lawaai van de straat is relatief luid, maar voor degenen die goed slapen is de prijs-prestatieverhouding goed: het ligt alleen naast de Kerk van de Hemelvaart, en op een minuut afstand ligt de Kerk van het Onze Vader; het is slechts vier of vijf minuten verwijderd van het belangrijke uitkijkplatform van de Olijfberg.

Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst. Heeft echter een groter bord nodig. De kamer is redelijk goed gezien de prijs.

We verbleven hier als onderdeel van een reisgezelschap, dus we hadden hier veel maaltijden. Het eten was goed, maar er was niet veel variatie van dag tot dag. Onze kamer was uitstekend - airconditioning werkte goed, de badkamer was gerenoveerd, veel bergruimte, matras op het bed was lekker stevig (niet zoals de zachte, niet-ondersteunende matrassen in de Amerikaanse hotels). 'S Nachts lijkt de buurt ruig. Het werd aanbevolen dat vrouwen in onze groep het hotel niet verlaten zonder mannelijke escort (zelfs niet overdag). Houd er ook rekening mee dat alle toeristenwinkels liever dollars of euro's ontvangen, en niet de nieuwe Israëlische sjekels (NIS). Sterker nog, in veel toeristenwinkels zijn de prijzen in dollars of euro's. Als u in NIS betaalt, zal de wisselkoers van dollars naar sikkels niet gunstig voor u zijn. Op de luchthaven was de wisselkoers 3,6 NIS voor 1 USD, maar in toeristenwinkels willen ze voor een artikel van 1 USD 4 sikkels. Wissel USD alleen in voor sjekels als u van plan bent naar reguliere Arabische of Israëlische winkels te gaan.

Perfect verblijf, ik bedank Imad, Ibrahim, Hussein voor de ontvangst, ik bedank Waleed die voor de keuken en roomservice zorgt, ik bedank Meriam en Sara voor de boodschap. Alles was perfect . Het hotel is schoon en modern, perfect gelegen. Ik kom terug?

Good, updated room with an excellent bed and excellent bathroom. Food was very good, although there was no variety day to day. Keep in mind, that if you are shopping in gift shops, most places list prices in US dollars or sometimes Euros. Thus, if you exchange money at the airport into the New Israeli Shekels. and pay with shekels, you will lose money on the conversion rate.

O my God... where do I begin?... The hospitality & love the staff shows is apart from anything I've experienced in Jerusalem! It is the.most moderately priced hotel (yay for that!), but the breakfast you get is nutritious & vast enough, the mint teas or coffees you can pour yourself throughout the day are a very special touch, and if you need a pick-me up lunch or dinner they make that available to you, too, with no hassle just love, and it's delicious! They renovated the 3rd floor, which is really special with marble floors, a big TV screens and very nice rooms! Lower floors are less expensive & modest, but they're all you need when you're on a pilgrammage, and was perfect for me! Also... this is the clincher: you begin the Walk of Jesus from this very point to the Garden of Gethsemane along Palm Sunday Road, then through Lion's Gate and Via Dolorosa to the very, very Church of the Holy Sepulchre! And this, you must walk for the full experience or you're seriously short-changing yourself! - Which means, you should be based at this hotel! The best upscale & quaint restaurant & cafe is right beside the Hotel and everyone says they ate the ery best shewarma of their lives here! Also... another clincher: the Mount of Olives Hotel is right beside the Ascension rock from whence Jesus ascended! A must visit! Orthodox churches & monasteries are all around the Hotel so again, a perfect choice for Orthodox Christians, and remember, you can walk to Old Town Jerusalem from here or take a local bus! And you have the best wide angle view of Jerusalem from the Lookout Point, overlooking the Dome of the Rock & the Golden Gate! And on a personal note: someone stole my iPhone from the OldCity, so I had to ask staffers umpteen times to use their mobile phones for whatsapp communications with my security advisor, and they were always obliging, understanding patient & compassionate!
