"We used this as a base to get around different scenic areas. It was close to the west parking lot of Hongcun, where several buses can take you to different places, including the Huangshan Scenic Area. The hotel was tastefully decorated and most distinctively, it had a movie lounge and a tea appreciation area. Make use of the hotel's golf cart service to get to the west parking lot and back. There were afternoon snacks provided and they varied each day. The only downside was probably the lack of shops within a 200m radius."

"We felt incredibly fortunate to stay at Danyuan Boutique Inn. The host was very welcoming and took extra care with everything. We had great conversations, and even though we had to use translation apps, we felt like friends after just one day. "Zhang Mansion is a peaceful oasis from the hustle and bustle of the ancient village, its decor and furnishing is fitting with the historic setting but with modern, clean and comfortable amenities. Would definitely stay again and would strongly recommend to others!
Hotel manager was very communicative, but you need to have WeChat. They can communicate in English by message with you.
The rooms were stunning, service was excellent and the communal areas were beautiful and comfortable.
Hotel breakfast was freshly made and they were able to accommodate our requests.
Some of the rooms require ascending steep stairs, so if you have accessibility needs it would be best to inform the hotel in advance. Bedrooms are comfortable and cosy. The addition of the tea ceremony area is brilliant. The mattresses and bedding were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean with good pressure hot water.
The hotel also put us in touch with a honest and reliable driver that we used for transfers from the bullet train station as well as a trip to Huang Shan (yellow mountain)."

"The Pig’s Inn is een erg gezellige plek waar je je thuis voelt. Het dorp Bishan ligt ver weg van de stad, dus ik vroeg het hotel om hulp bij het regelen van een taxi. Manager Fang Xin (方鑫) gaf me het contact met de chauffeur die altijd op tijd was en me veel tips gaf over het beklimmen van de berg Huang. De kamer in het hotel was erg schoon en warm, ongeacht het zeer koude weer buiten. Het hotelpersoneel is super aardig, ze wachtten tot heel laat op ons met het avondeten. Omdat mijn familie erg kieskeurig is als het om eten gaat, was Pig's Inn een perfecte plek om te dineren en te ontbijten, omdat ze alle gerechten maakten volgens de behoeften van mijn familie. 'S Avonds zat er een enorme spin in onze kamer (kwam daar plotseling), de aardige vrouw van het hotel hielp ons om hem uit de kamer te verwijderen. Alles was perfect en onze reis was erg leuk dankzij de Pig’s Inn ☺️"

最驚喜的是房東大叔的做飯手藝：我們從入住當天吃到退房，不帶重樣，在大廳裏的陳年老桌上吃家常飯，甭提多巴適。大叔給我們講到他的經歷：原來就是本村旅遊公司負責接待的，從86年西遞正式開放一直做到7、8年前退休，講了西遞啥時候接待外賓最多、啥時候國內賓客達到高峯；退休後在自家宅院開了民宿。。住在這裏特別有家的感覺，有兒時的靜謐和舒適，這裏跟這座千年老村相得益彰，給我們留下來非常深刻的記憶。
步行僅需幾分鐘的咖啡館也超棒，鬧中取靜，特別怡人。

We totally recommend this hotel.
It's in a beautiful old building, very well preserved and refurbished, and in a great location: in the Xidi old town, but a little bit more isolated, in the more quiet and less touristy area. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very stylish, it even had a tiny annexed studio room with desk and interesting books with a good kettle and tea set available. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a very nice bathtub and heated toilet. Our host was super nice and helpful, he came to pick us up and dropped us at the bus station at the end of our stay. He's really friendly and gave us some nice tips on visiting the surrounding villages. He has a very cute dog and a cuddly cat :)
Only negative comment: the room's window is on the side of the main road, so you can hear all the cars passing by. But even then, a great stay!

My family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

The property is located in the heart of Hongcun, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the historic village on foot. As guests, you’re also entitled to discounted entrance tickets: just let the ticket office know you're staying here and they'll give you 50% off tickets. Room was exactly as in the photos, spacious, perfectly clean and featured a very comfortable bed and many accessories (bottled water, tv, haircomb, hairdrier, etc). The building’s traditional Chinese architecture was absolutely beautiful and on a rainy day, it created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere we will treasure forever in our memories. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They kindly met us to guide us to the hotel (since Apple Maps and AMaps can be a bit confusing in the area), provided umbrellas free of charge and even bring us back to the parking lot when we left. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Hongcun!

Owners were very kind to pick us up from the entrance of Hongcun and assisted us with our luggage. The Inn is located within the village which makes it convenient to return home after walking through the village streets at night. The room is spacious, bright and clean. We loved the large living space where we could hang out with family and chit chat. There's a cute puppy at the reception and the owners were very considerate to put it on a leash whenever my mum was around as she's afraid of dogs.
Would recommend this to all who're thinking of visiting Hongcun!

De B&B waar we deze keer verbleven was werkelijk een fantastische ervaring die onze verwachtingen overtrof, elk detail was betoverend!
Als u de binnenplaats voor het eerst betreedt, wordt u betoverd door het weelderige groen. De bomen zijn weelderig en bladrijk en schitteren van vitaliteit in de zon; De stenen paden zijn schoon en netjes, en bezaaid met prachtige steensnijwerken. Iedere stap brengt een nieuw tafereel, vol poëzie. Het is als een langzaam ontvouwend landschapsschilderij, dat het hart onmiddellijk tot rust brengt.
Als u het huis binnenstapt, ziet u hoog een plaquette hangen met de woorden ”Reading Hall”. De kamer staat vol met eenvoudig en elegant Chinees meubilair en is versierd met prachtige kalligrafie en schilderijen. Elk detail ademt de charme van de traditionele cultuur, alsof u zich in een elegant kunstpaleis bevindt. De houten elementen in de kamer zorgen voor een natuurlijke warmte en het bed is zacht en comfortabel, waardoor u een goede nachtrust zult hebben.
De openbare ruimtes zitten vol hoogtepunten. De houten trap is prachtig ontworpen, de treden en delicate leuningen vullen elkaar aan en elke trede heeft veel textuur. De banken in de recreatieruimte zijn zacht en aangenaam, en het zonlicht stroomt door de deur naar binnen en weerspiegelt het pittoreske landschap buiten. Als u hier even gaat zitten, zult u zich helemaal op uw gemak en ontspannen voelen.
Het personeel was hartelijk en attent en beantwoordde al uw vragen. Dankzij hun attente service voelden we ons thuis en was ons verblijf nog warmer.
Deze homestay combineert traditionele cultuur met comfort. Of u nu van de charme van vroeger houdt of een reiziger bent die op zoek is naar een rustig plekje: hier vindt u uw ideale verblijf. Ik raad het van harte aan al mijn vrienden aan en kijk ernaar uit jullie de volgende keer weer te zien!

早就想來皖南看看水墨江南了 很高興來到西遞訂到了這家民宿古居·半耕草堂
真的是一次特別愉快的住宿體驗 這家店是明清保存下來的古居改成的 衹做了四間房 進門就受到深深的歷史沉澱感 院裏院外都是客棧老闆自己淘置的老物件古董古蹟 明顯的感到房主的用心經營
我們來時已經傍晚 沿着西遞古村的田野小路踏進了客棧 “燈火深時書有味，墨花晨綻字生香”用這句詩來形容草堂的夜景是更合適不過了。管家小哥非常熱心的給我們介紹每處建築環境細節來由 旁邊有個小閣樓真是讓我驚喜不斷 一樓是茶室 管家小哥熱情耐心地挑選茶葉茶品 供我們浸泡飲用 真的有被感動到🥹 二樓是觀景台還有架古箏 牆上處處的字畫瓷器木雕等等 足以讓人聯想到古時大户人家的院門生活。入住這家民宿 真的幫我加了很多分 沉浸學習到很多徽州文化帶來的魅力 給我這次“文化之旅”圓滿的畫上了句號哈哈。
下次再來一定還會入住半耕草堂 這邊去附近碧山 呈坎 宏村 屏山等等景區都很近！😊

偶爾網上刷到的民宿，看是喜歡的裝修風格，就訂了。
果然，網不欺我。非常安靜的小院子，晚上拍到了
滿天繁星，然後一夜好眠。
老闆是個人美心善的小姑娘，離店的時候忘了把房卡放下，等老闆電話過來，人已到了盧村。
最後把房卡放在宏村某快遞點，害小姑娘百忙之中跑一趟，真的很抱歉。
民宿的狗狗也非常可愛，狗隨主人。😁
民宿離奇墅湖不遠，一大早去拍晨霧，可能是時間點不對，還有拍的技術不行，效果一般。
如果想在民宿用餐，需要提前預約。
川西和皖南是我的最愛之一之二，人生的第三次皖南行，完美。
準備買張黃山年卡，春天再來。

The Inn is located inside the Scenic area, the room is clean but relatively small especially the bathroom. The soundproofing is poor as you can hear clearly what’s happening at the next room. The common area at the ground floor is a bit messy. Quite dark at night.
The only plus point is the Inn is located inside the Scenic area.
Actually the Inn’s location is a bit difficult for a traveler to find, if the owner hadn’t come out to fetch me, I wouldn’t have been able to find the Inn at all. Besides that, the pathway at the Scenic area is made of stone, full of potholes and quite dirty, thus it’d be a nightmare to pull a luggage all the way from the bus station to the Inn.
The Scenic area has become too commercial and super crowded, it is impossible to have a nice and quiet stroll to enjoy the scenery. The only time you can have a quiet walk is before 6am morning. I myself will definitely not coming back.

Dit verblijf was werkelijk uitstekend! Van de communicatie vóór het inchecken tot het uitchecken was de service onberispelijk. De kamer was schoon en netjes, warm en comfortabel ingericht, en de faciliteiten waren compleet en modern (vooral het beddengoed – het was zo comfortabel dat ik tot de ochtend heb geslapen!). De locatie was ook erg gunstig, met gemakkelijke toegang tot restaurants en openbaar vervoer in de buurt.
Een speciale dank aan de eigenaar voor haar warme welkom en snelle reactie op al mijn vragen; ze gaf me ook veel nuttige lokale reistips! Ik zal deze plek zeker weer kiezen de volgende keer dat ik hier ben en zal het mijn vrienden aanbevelen!

We had a fantastic stay at this charming hotel in Huangcun. The owner was very kind—she personally met us and even helped carry our luggage to the hotel. The hotel is beautifully designed in a traditional Chinese house style, and we were delighted to receive a complimentary room upgrade. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with lovely views. Its location inside the old village is very convenient for sightseeing and just a short walk to the ticket gate. Highly recommended!
