Het boutique hotel Angelica ligt op 500 meter van de aankomstplaats van de ferry. Houdt er rekening mee dat het hotel een stuk hoger ligt dan de haven; met bagage is dat een uitdaging. In de haven bestaat wel de optie om gebruik te maken van muilezels om de bagage naar het hotel te brengen. Hotel Angelica is verdeeld over twee gebouwen. Er is geen lift. De kamers zijn te bereiken via trappen. De kamers worden dagelijks schoongemaakt en voorzien van schone handdoeken. In de kamers een koelkast met water, een kluisje, een kleerkast, een airco, koffie/thee faciliteiten en een grote badkamer. Wij hadden voor ons tweeën een 3-persoons kamer. Perfect voor 2 personen, maar voor 3 toch aan de krappe kant. Zeker ook gezien het feit dat de 3e slaapplaats een vrij oncomfortabel uitziende slaapbank is. Het hoger gelegen tweepersoonsbed is te bereiken via een nogal steile trap. Bij het bed staat een aparte, losse airco. Zelf hadden we liever twee afzonderlijke bedden in plaats van een tweepersoons bed. De badkamer heeft een bad gecombineerd met douche, een wasbak en een toilet. Het bad is tevens te gebruiken als jacuzzi. Door dit laatste is de instap in het bad erg hoog. Toiletartikelen zijn aanwezig. De kamer beschikt tevens over een balkon met tafel en stoeltjes met uitzicht op de straat. Het ontbijt, geserveerd op het terras aan de overkant, is goed. Alles wordt tijdig aangevuld. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Bij het hotel is buiten een jacuzzi. Niet groot, maar lekker om af te koelen na een wandeling. Bij de jacuzzi staan ligbedden en zijn handdoeken aanwezig. Een mooi hotel om lekker tot rust te komen en Hydra te verkennen.

We were traveling Europe for six weeks and initially had not planned to go to Hydra. However, after several of our friends raved about it we decided to go. This hotel is just like many reviews described it. Family run with a great staff, great location, and very comfortable rooms. There is a nice breakfast buffet. We quickly got up on the learning curve of turning the hot water circuit breaker on when we were within an hour of needing it and off when we left the room. We let the donkeys carry bags from the ferry when we arrived…because it was fun and the cobblestone street had a little incline to the hotel. We easily carried our luggage to the ferry when departing. The cobblestones have been worn very smooth over time. Highly recommend this hotel and island . We found the restaurants very reasonably priced and the whole a**osphere very relaxing for 3 days. Just a very memorable visit!!

We (wife, two late teen kids, and me) stayed here last week for four nights. We had two rooms, both of them with balconies. Very laid back, clean and friendly with a price that didn't break the bank (4 x people, 2 x rooms, and 4 x nights for €800, including breakfast). It was our first time on this "vehicle and bike free" island. It was very quiet and a lot of the shops and restaurants were closed, but with some great views. We could have got a mule to take us and our bags to the hotel from the ferry at the port, but it was only ten minutes walking, so it didn't bother us. One point I would make, is that a little printed sheet (in maybe Greek and English) with what was available for breakfast, would save a lot of time (and also some embarrassment for the two helpfully greek ladies serving the tables) I the morning. Though I do not mean this as a complaint, but more of a suggestion that they may consider, which could streamline things. It's only a small hotel, but it has a big heart, and we have no hesitation recommending it to other travellers

Lovely little hotel. Nice balcony, decent breakfast at an affordable price. Recommend coming to Hydra in the off-season.

Lovely property about 10 mins walk from the port area. The room was clean & comfortable. Staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was enjoyable in a covered courtyard. We had hoped for a room with a balcony but had a terrace shared with the neighbouring room so no privacy when sitting/relaxing outside. But a very nice stay and Hydra is well worth a visit.

Beautifully designed hotel, very clean and comfortable, excellent breakfast. A relaxing, calm oasis, we really enjoyed our stay here. The entrance is hard to see: look for the sign on your right, beige sign high up on beige wall.

I experienced a very warm friendly welcome, everything was exceptional.
Very close to the port, just a short walk up the hill. Close to all amenities just a short stroll away Hydra is stunning a wow factor.

Beautiful, quiet place overlooking the town and the harbour. Great choice of breakfast, friendly staff. The one problem was that we had to keep the room hermetically sealed with the air conditioning on to exclude mosquitoes. But that is not the hotel's fault and would be the same in any other hotel on the island.

We stayed 3 nights at the Angelica. Our room was very clean and super comfortable and the bed was comfy. Location was perfect, very quiet and easy to walk to the harbor and back. We found it close enough that we did not need to hire a donkey to bring us to the hotel. Staff were helpful (especially Andreas!) and fun to talk with and breakfast was good. We are thinking of coming back to Hydra and will definitely stay here again.
