Het hotel ligt een beetje verscholen, niet aan de hoofdweg; taxi's kunnen alleen buiten parkeren en je moet naar binnen lopen. De ingang is ook vrij klein. De lift van het hotel is vrij uniek, met een ietwat antieke uitstraling, en best leuk. De kamers zijn relatief groot, maar de indeling is onlogisch. De waterdruk van de douche is laag en de douche en het toilet zijn gecombineerd, waardoor het na het douchen vrij koud aanvoelt.

De locatie is in het stadscentrum, vlakbij het Egyptisch Museum. Tal van voorzieningen zijn binnen 10 minuten lopen te vinden. De beroemde Koshary Abu Tarek ligt op 6 minuten lopen. De kamers zijn goed onderhouden. Er is 24/7 personeel bij de receptie. Gasten van alle leeftijden en nationaliteiten kunnen hier verblijven. Suggestie voor verbetering: 1. De handdoeken worden verstrekt bij het inchecken en niet op verzoek. 2. De lift moet worden gemoderniseerd, want ik ben wel eens binnen beland tijdens een stroomstoring. En vaak werkte de lift niet omdat de liftdeur niet goed gesloten was. Houd er rekening mee dat de lift niet door uw hostel wordt beheerd. Vraag hiernaar bij de eigenaar van het gebouw, want dit is niet acceptabel. 3. Overweeg een centraal airconditioningsysteem. Iedereen kan de airconditioning uitschakelen met gevolgen voor anderen.

Хороший отель в центре Каира. Расположен на 12 этаже, есть лифты. Шум трафика не ощущается. Можно заказать завтрак или кофе в кафе на крыше. В моем номере (124) был просторный балкон, современная душевая, холодильник, шкаф. Персонал в отеле отзывчивый.

The staffs were extremely friendly, they greeted every customer every morning with a smile. The breakfast was free and tea, coffee and juice were being served. It was at the top floor, the view of old Cairo in a panorama view of the city. The pigeons were a great decor and kept guests company on the terrace lounge.

The hotel is quite close to the Egyptian museum, The facility is okay - The place is quite old but clean. The hotel staff here are very nice especially Mr Anas he was quite energetic and really looking forward to service + friendly I didn't expect that he was invites me to the lunch together with them ** note** for someone who cannot sleep with the noise - the hotel is quite close to the Egyptian Street which is always honking the horn. Solution ** ust bring an earplug ( The one that you would receive on in airplane ) and everything's gonna be fine In conclusion this hotel is reasonably priced for this quality. if you don't expect for something luxury but friendly , This hotel could be your choice

In general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building. * Location & Transportation Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum. And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price. In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones. Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it. * Building and room conditions Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room. It is quite convenient a washstand in each room. However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler. It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel. * Cleanness & Safety Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this. * Services There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water. Wifi is too weak to use the internet. Other services like laundry are satisfied. * Others During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally. In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better. And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable. Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

The place was clean, the room was a little smaller than I imagined, staff polite and helpful, excellent stay for the price would recommend to those on a budget The lack of local shops on this very smart new development means remembering to buy everything elsewhere

Good cheap rooms..small fridge inside.. but you can hear others talking in hallways.. free breakfast good value

When we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night.

Uitstekende locatie vlakbij het Tahrirplein, het Egyptisch Museum en metrostation Sadat. Het personeel was fantastisch, met name manager Ahmed, receptioniste Alaa en schoonmaakster Azze. Het ontbijt was goed. Het hotel heeft zeven verdiepingen met een receptie en een gemeenschappelijke lounge op de bovenste verdieping. Tijdens ons verblijf werd ik opgenomen in het ziekenhuis en ze hielden dagelijks contact met me via mijn vrouw en een vriendin die ook in het hotel verbleef. We werden hartelijk ontvangen toen ik hersteld was. Het is ongeveer 20 tot 30 minuten rijden naar het Egyptisch Museum en het Gizeh-plateau met de piramides en de Sfinx. De luchthavens van de Sfinx en Caïro liggen op ongeveer 45 minuten tot een uur rijden.
