The location was great. All persons I engaged with were exuberant, cooperative, helpful and full of smiles. The breakfast was OK, the Bar was Good. Local amenities were plentiful. This is NOT a walk-around place. There are no sidewalks, no crosswalks and heavy traffic. With all the close amenities, you 90% have to drive, just to get across the street. Poor city planning for people / pedestrians.

The carpet in our room was stained in numerous places in the both the main room and the bedroom. The window was filthy. The curtain sheers have something on them as well as the couch cushions. The couch slants forward like you are going to tip off the couch. The foot rest is tearing open at the seams and sagging on the bottom. There is a hole in the bathroom wall from the door handle smashing into it. We received an almost empty bottle of shampoo and a tissue box with only a couple of tissues left. There are goldfish crackers in the air conditioner in the bedroom. We paid for breakfast but we never told what time it was served (or given any info about the hotel and there was no info in the room) and when we came down to eat we were told breakfast ended at 9am. Every other hotel we’ve stayed at on our trip breakfast has been served until 9:30, 10:00 or even 10:30. When I filled out the IHG survey, the general manager from the hotel responded that they are sorry they didn’t meet my expectations and will use my comments to coach their team. Nothing in the response indicated that they will be fixing the room.

Everything was great, minus the excessive taxes. There was a $12 county tax added to the bill, along with a city, state, and another ”room” fee.. when is enough, finally enough? The hotel itself is great. Room was nice, although shower could be updated. Marriotts got ya beat in that area.. everything worked. Breakfast was great. Lots to choose from. Would I stay here again? I'd like to, if the price is right, but, the taxes add up quick.

The hotel is by many restaurants, stores, gas stations once you come out of the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly! This will be our go-to spot whenever we need to stay in Birmingham.

I stayed here last year and so when I returned to Birmingham I needed to stay here again and I was not disappointed. I got the renovated superior king and it was great. Everything seemed brand new and in perfect working order. The A/C blew really cold air on a steaming hot day. Fridge was very clean and cold. WiFi was pretty fast and reliable, around 20 Mbps download speed. The TV shows cable channels in 4K and there are several HBO channels, so you will be pleased with the selection. The hotel needs to print those channel listings sheets and put them in all the rooms. Mattress was comfy and pillows fluffy. I do have a minor complaint about the shower head, it just has less pressure than I like. Please try to upgrade to the head with big powerful jets. I also don't like all-wood floors, so at least try to tape a rug near the door so on rainy days you can take off your wet shoes without tracking wet spots all over the room. Also install a rug near the bed so bare feet ain't touching a bare floor. I can't be the only person who likes carpets in hotel rooms, right? Ice machine is on the 3rd floor. Parking is crowded on weekends but I was still able to park close to the elevator. Lobby is very clean and the clerk was very friendly. Overall, I highly recommend this Red Roof and will definitely stay here again when I'm in town.

I stayed here last year and so when I returned to Birmingham I needed to stay here again and I was not disappointed. I got the renovated superior king and it was great. There is a parking lot. Opposite the hotel is a big Mall. Hotel location is quite good. When you check in, you can ask your room to be on the side of the road that faces the road. In fact, it is noisy at night because there are trucks that come in and out all night.

The location was great. All persons I engaged with were exuberant, cooperative, helpful and full of smiles. The breakfast was OK, the Bar was Good. Local amenities were plentiful. This is NOT a walk-around place. There are no sidewalks, no crosswalks and heavy traffic. With all the close amenities, you 90% have to drive, just to get across the street. Poor city planning for people / pedestrians.

The hotel itself is great. Room was nice, although shower could be updated. Marriotts got ya beat in that area.. everything worked. Breakfast was great. Lots to choose from. Would I stay here again? I'd like to, if the price is right, but, the taxes add up quick.

This is one of the Best Western hotels that I have stayed at. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was good. For the price we paid, it was worth it. The hotel is by many restaurants, stores, gas stations once you come out of the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly! This will be our go-to spot whenever we need to stay in Birmingham.

The carpet in our room was stained in numerous places in the both the main room and the bedroom. The window was filthy. The curtain sheers have something on them as well as the couch cushions. The couch slants forward like you are going to tip off the couch. The foot rest is tearing open at the seams and sagging on the bottom. There is a hole in the bathroom wall from the door handle smashing into it. We received an almost empty bottle of shampoo and a tissue box with only a couple of tissues left. There are goldfish crackers in the air conditioner in the bedroom. We paid for breakfast but we never told what time it was served (or given any info about the hotel and there was no info in the room) and when we came down to eat we were told breakfast ended at 9am. Every other hotel we’ve stayed at on our trip breakfast has been served until 9:30, 10:00 or even 10:30. When I filled out the IHG survey, the general manager from the hotel responded that they are sorry they didn’t meet my expectations and will use my comments to coach their team. Nothing in the response indicated that they will be fixing the room.
