"I booked this hotel mainly because it's in a relatively safe area; the receptionist said I could walk around the streets with peace of mind. Hotels in safe areas of Los Angeles are usually expensive, so this one offered good value. The room was quiet, and parking was right in front of the building; the receptionist registered my vehicle information, so I wasn't too worried about parking safety. The streets were relatively tidy. The room had a pleasant air freshener scent. It's also close to Griffith Observatory (for viewing the Hollywood sign and beautiful sunsets)."

Glenridge Inn Glendale - Pasadena

"The room was clean except for the ceiling which could use a new coat of paint. The room smelled a bit musty. $200 for 2 nights is extremely expensive, but that must be due to the LA location. What is inadequate and not nice is that smokers have to stand right next to a garbage can because it is the smoking area."

Jewel City Inn

"The building is average looking with friendly manager. I had apartment 201 which was an upstairs unit. The white bedspread had stains on it, that looked like fecal stains from someone sitting on the white spread. The sheets were fine. The carpeting looked like it had not been shampooed in years. The sleeping area has two ceiling lights that were not working. Not so sure that the TV remote was working, but was able to work the TV using the on and off buttons. There were no light switches near the bed so I had to get out of bed to turn on and off the ceiling lights. The baseboards were very dirty and dusty. Spots on the walls. The headboard needed to be dusted. The bathroom had decent water pressure and sufficient hot water. The walls near the toilet and sink counter were full of spots. Spider webs on the side of the toilet walls. Ceiling exhaust fan was not working, and one light in the bathroom was out. Towels were clean but put on he racks not completely dry. In general I would say that the cleaning staff probably touches the obvious areas but does not pay attention to details. Even the lightswitch covers had a layer of dust on the top of the cover. I have pictures, but not going to spend anymore time on this review. Just want to warn future customers looking at this location."
