Decided to try he Arkaba Hotel bistro twice during my stay in Adelaide. I'm glad I did. Whilst this is a huge complex that has the bistro, pokies, sports bar and accomodation, it is a family friendly place that is well patronised. When I was there on a Friday and Sunday night, the dining room was bustling, with diners having a meal before theatre/comedy shows and birthday celebrations, in addition to the usual casual dining. On Friday night, I tried the sourdough garlic bread with cheese, which had some nice density to it, grilled to perfection with stretchy cheese. Then I had the beef schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The schnitzel was crunchy and I really liked the mushroom sauce - lots of mushrooms in a possible cream of mushroom soup base. Lots of crispy chips were on the plate too. When I went back on the Sunday, I had the Yoder smoked scotch fillet, once again with mushroom sauce. I didn't need the sauce, as the steak had a lovely Smokey flavour that stood on its own. I ordered mine medium, and it was cooked perfectly. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasty, and the dressing was not too heavy. The chips were crispy once again, but the only downside were the two onion rings, which could have done with a bit longer in the fryer. Meals are ordered and paid for at the register, with drinks purchased separately at the bar. Multiple televisions screens showing sport and select commercial stations are also present in the bistro. All in all, next time I visit Adelaide, I will be heading back to Arkaba Hotel for a meal.

Perfect for families who may not always want to eat out all the time. Friendly staff. Woolworths is a 5-10 mins walk away. There is also Jenny’s bakery 15 mins walk along Glen Osmond Road towards the city who serves a great coffee and amazing pastries baked onsite! It’s only a 5-10 mins drive into Adelaide. This place was perfectly located for my recent working trip. Staying for two weeks I prefer to book apartment style accommodation. The apartment had everything I needed, I was able to make my own meals to help keep costs down. There was an amazing supermarket which had won lots of awards just down the road which also had a good coffee shop. Public transport out the front allowed me to travel into the city each morning for work. Staff were friendly and regularly serviced the room.

Room was quite acceptable, position was good, nothing can be done as regards road noise, wifi connected easily, reception very helpful. The owners need to sharpen their pencil regards “🚭 No Smoking” policies in this country..... and enforce those policies. A designated smoking area is needed. Remove all ash trays from outside the doors of the rooms.... needless to say I am a non smoker and didn’t appreciate a smoker outside our room, reception was helpful with the problem, but the problem continued and I should not have to be in debate with a neighbouring room as to whether or not she can smoke on the verandah.

When I went back on the Sunday, I had the Yoder smoked scotch fillet, once again with mushroom sauce. I didn't need the sauce, as the steak had a lovely Smokey flavour that stood on its own. I ordered mine medium, and it was cooked perfectly. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasty, and the dressing was not too heavy. The chips were crispy once again, but the only downside were the two onion rings, which could have done with a bit longer in the fryer. Meals are ordered and paid for at the register, with drinks purchased separately at the bar. Multiple televisions screens showing sport and select commercial stations are also present in the bistro. All in all, next time I visit Adelaide, I will be heading back to Arkaba Hotel for a meal.
