We went for a family vacation from end of Dezember to mid January and were happy in all possible ways! The whole Kandolhu team is super friendly and provide an amazing stay! With the 5 restaurants you have a wide variety of foods to try and to explore different tastes! Special hint: We absolutely fell in love with the „butter chicken“ at the market - you’ll not find it on the card and you have to pre-order it 24hrs. in advance but it will blow your mind! The island is extremely clean, you have many small & bigger sharks circling close the the shore or around the reef as well as at least 3 turtles and eagle rays! We stayed at a water bungalow and with their direct access to the ocean you get to see corals and fish close to your doorstep! Snorkling around the housreefs really is a blissful experience as the corals and marine life has recovered very well from it‘s previous bleaching! Diving with Chiara & Michael makes a lot of fun and you even get to see some dive sites only approached from Kandolhu with fishswarms and hard corals as far as you can see - it really was an amazing experience! Special thanks to Nasru, Kris, Elvira, Estella, Waan for their excellent service in the restaurants, Raghi for looking after us and ensuring that we liked the food, Chiara, Michael and the boat crew for providing such funny dives and their efforts on the boat, Gilbert and the lady at the bar which welcomed you always with a smile and provided fantastically, Immi, which was always there for you if you had any question and Monika & Giaume, as the hosts of the island they were always open for a chat, where making sure that if something was needed you would get it immediately - great effort by all the Kandolhu Team!

The Maldives vacation was wonderful! Excellent Origami Inn Guest House, excellent location near the beautiful bikini beach, cleanliness, delicious breakfasts and dinners. Excellent and responsive attitude of the staff and the owner. The owners of the hotel are a family, very nice, kind, friendly and hospitable people who speak English well. They helped me in everything, met me, saw me off - just wonderful people. Aziz solved any questions and requests. Aziz organized interesting excursions to another island for us and took us diving with turtles himself. It's like we're visiting a friend! We will be happy to come next time and advise our friends! It is a hotel where I would like to stay next time. Every day fruit and cookies arrived in the room and it was fine. Sufficient service will be provided.

First of all, I am an experienced Maldives traveler. I have no visited 7 different islands. Ellaidhoo offers by far the best reef. You can find everything, from beautiful coral gardens, which of many corals are still alive, to big predators likes sharks. You will see different kind of rays and beautiful fish on a daily basis. All employees on this island try to give their best to make your holiday memorable. The food from breakfast to dinner is nice! There should be something for everyone. They offer live cooking stations, authentic Sri Lankan/maldivian food as well as western food. Special thanks to my „personal“ attendant Genahi. She did everything once i had questions or any concerns about different topics. She made a great job. Another thanks to madawan ( main bar) and Akram ( main restaurant), both made sure that I never went out of drinks. Do all in all, if you are in search of an island, where you can relax and dive/snorkel like crazy you are absolutely right on Ellaidhoo. But be aware of the fact, that Ellaidhoo is not the typical postcard island with big and marvelous beaches. Because of ellaidoos geography, it’s mandatory that the island is surrounded and protected by seawalls. But if you once understand why, they will not even annoy you. I highly recommend to visit Ellaidhoo. I would suggest, that it mostly makes sense if you have some kind of relationship to the ocean, like diving or snorkelling. Than there will be no requirements untouched.
