Villa Koutsakis

"I would like to say that this is the only negative experience in two weeks of holiday in Crete, with three huge oil ships to be trapped off the beach and one industrial establishment on the right. The beach is directly accessible from the hotel but it was under absolute degradation (waste around, broken shadows, artificial swamp pieces in the sand and large red-red nets on the edges of the beach). The rooms were completely scrapped and furnished with a garden table and some plastic chairs, so not suitable for dinner: two beds on three were rounded to not move at night. The "kitchen" consists of two malfunctioning electrical plates, one pad and a few stove, a mini refrigerator we had to turn off at night because it was lying every 10 minutes. Of course there is no trace of boiler, coffee machine, Plates ... all things we have always found in apartments that, among other things, cost much less. So in practice it is impossible to cook even a plate of pasta. In addition, the villa is located in a completely isolated area from everything: The first village with a mini market is about half an hour drive away, there is a decent single tavern in the surroundings, to reach the villa there is a fancy road and the last track is completely shredded in critical and very rigid conditions, I would like to add the only opinion that can be considered subjective about the owners' attitude that personally seemed unpleasant and cold. Not that they were hostile, because they answered my questions, but nothing to do with the sun and warm attitude that made us in love with Crete. In short, better avoid the villa Koutsakis, there are countless other better and even more cheap places where they spend the days."

"I stayed for two weeks and had a very enjoyable time. The rooms were simply built, but always kept clean. Dinner was Greek home cooking with a lot of vegetables and was very delicious. I especially liked the moussaka and soup. The owners and staff were very friendly and I would like to go back again. It was about a 20-minute walk from the hotel to the beach, and the nearest beach, Matala Beach, was very crowded, so I liked Kommo, which was about a 10-minute drive away. Not only was the beach beautiful, but there were few people and I was able to relax."

De kamers zijn ruime en in de bovenste verdiepingen met balkon waar u ook de zee ziet. Ik kan het hotel het meest aanbevelen en ik zal zeker terugkomen. "Very beautiful place with sea view and an enchanting sunset from the terrace. The room, clean and fragrant, is well equipped with a mini fridge, electric stove, sink and all the accessories to be able to cook independently. The room is cleaned daily and the linen is changed every three days. We were pleasantly impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of the owner who welcomed us with great warmth, their aperitifs were excellent. The staff speaks English. The beach, in front of the room, is well equipped with a fixed umbrella and two deckchairs available to the structure at a cost of 5 euros per day which requires a representative of the municipality. In the immediate vicinity there are several bars and restaurants where you can eat very well at reasonable prices and a well-stocked supermarket. A rental car is recommended for getting around if you want to visit other beaches."

"Een wel wat ouder wordend hotel wat wel wat onderhoud nodig heeft. Schoonmaak is prima. Bedden goed. Halfpension prima. Personeel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het voelt als thuiskomen. Nu voor de 3e keer geweest. Zwembad eenvoudig. Bar hele dag en avond open. Is 20 min lopen van centrum"

"Prima hotel, goede maar eenvoudige kamer, geen haken, niets in de badkamer om handdoeken of kleding op te hangen… Goed beddengoed. Maar de receptie is onmogelijk bereikbaar voor mensen met een beperking; er zijn alleen trappen, geen hellingbaan en geen lift."
