This is a lovely, spotlessly clean, well run and well maintained property. I stayed in July 2021 and again in August of 2021. I enjoyed both stays. My review is based on an accounting error, lack of customer service to assist me with this error and the arrogant attitude of the manager. Like all hotels, The Garrison charges your credit card twice for your stay and the second charge “falls off “ your account in a day or two. As a rule, the second charge is the same dollar amount as the first. This was not the case for the charges for my August stay however. I mentioned this at check out since the two charges were very different, by more than $200. I was assured it was perfectly normal. By the weekend the charge was still “hanging” on my credit card. I called several times and was told that the manager, Tanya, would return my call. By Monday I still had not heard from anyone at the hotel and when I called to inquire again, the front desk hung up on me. I contacted my credit card company who told me that both charges had been posted to my account, and had not “fallen off “ as promised. The erroneous charge was nearly $1000. Since the hotel manager obviously wasn’t interested in assisting me, I filed a complaint with my bank. As a seasoned traveler, I fully expect to be treated like a valued customer. In turn, I am respectful of every property I stay at, thank each and every employee I encounter and tip accordingly,. There is absolutely no excuse for the rude and arrogant behavior of the manager at this hotel.
