"Omdat we onze huurauto voor 10 uur 's morgens moesten inleveren op het vliegveld van Johannesburg wilden we een leuk gelegen hotel, niet te ver van O.R. Tambo. Kievits Kroon is dan een prima keuze. Wel apart om na het inchecken per auto naar je kamer te gaan, je parkeert de auto namelijk voor de deur van je kamer. De kamer was niet heel groot en een beetje somber, we hadden iets sfeervollers verwacht. Het terrein is heel groot, maar als je bijv. naar het restaurant wilde kon je per golfkarretje gebracht worden. Het eten in het fine dining restaurant was goed, maar geen topklasse. Het ontbijt is zeer uitgebreid en luxe, met een zeer ruime keuze. Opvallend dat we in de rij stonden om het terrein op te rijden, de toegang was ook zeer smal. Vooral lastig als het druk is; toen wij er waren, waren en fotosessies met grote groepen jonge mensen. Daardoor was het ook lastig om een plekje op een van de terrassen te vinden. Conclusie: prima voor een nacht, gunstig gelegen t.o.v. het vliegveld van Johannesburg, maar door de grootte voelde het allemaal wel wat onpersoonlijk aan."

"We stayed at this hotel on 6 April 2026 for one night and it was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. Firstly, the air conditioning in the room did not work at all. The room felt like an oven, making it extremely uncomfortable to stay in, especially after a long day of travelling. To make matters worse, the sliding door could not open, so there was no ventilation whatsoever. The television was not working, and there was no fridge in the room, which is something you would reasonably expect from a hotel. When we asked for ice, we were told we would have to pay R30 just for an ice bucket – unbelievable, considering the R1 678 we paid for the one-night stay. Another issue was that there was no hot water because the geysers in our block was off. This meant we could not even shower. Maintenance came to the room and confirmed all the faults, so these were clearly known issues. Reception then offered to move us to another room, but by that time it was too late – my son had already fallen asleep on the bed without being able to shower after a long day. Overall, this was a horrible experience and extremely disappointing. The room was clearly not properly checked or maintained before guests arrived. We will never book with this hotel again and would strongly advise others to reconsider before staying here."
