NIce decent hotel for the price. Right in the center of everything.
Would defiantly stay there again. They were very accommodating as I arrived very late at night and they made the check in easy.

If you're looking for a place to lay your head so you can spend more time and money on adventures then this is the hotel for you. It isn't to most glamorous but meets all your basic needs. It's affordable when compared to the other hotels a block from the ocean and it's location allows for easy walking to and from activities and if a 30 minute walk doesn't bother you, you can enjoy old San Juan as well.

I had the room with a king size bed. The room was generally clean just dust on the floor. The room was cold with air conditioning on but you can adjust the temperature. The bed was comfortable and there were no complaints besides it being nosey in the mornings from the outside. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel. The staff is very friendly and there are a lot of places to walk to in the surrounding area.

Employees need to be better informed about parking options. Finding parking in the street is not an option. They are never available. We parked in the Ashford Clinic Parking lot about 3 blocks away. Overnight $20, not bad. Overnight at the Marriott (closer) $67.00.

Canario has so much potential, it is a shame they don’t do the minimum to maintain it. The staff was very accommodating. But, room floor had big, noticeable scratches that instantly lower your impression of whole hotel. Then followed by most plug outlets didn’t work that left long diagonal cords across the wall. Sink would not drain. Love the look and feel of the hotel. True potential to be a Boutique hotel with a great location. While have stayed here before, won’t be back.

Do not stay here. The pictures on ******* look nothing like this hotel. Very dirty, very old. No hot water, and no water pressure. We woke up covered in bites. ******* should actually be ashamed of having it on site. Staff was friendly and location was good.

THE CANARIO BOUTIQUE HOTEL FALSE ADVERTISEMENT THE PICTURES YOU SEE ON THE HOTEL WEBSITE OF THE ROOM IS NOT WHAT YOUR GOING TO GET IN PERSON. A MAJOR UPGRADE IS NEEDED FOR THIS ENTIRE HOTEL. THE WIFI IS BAD IT GOES IN AND OUT. THE WATER PRESSURE IS TERRIBLE ALSO THE WATER GOES AWAY. I WOULD DEFINITELY NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN OR EVEN RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY AS AN OPTION TO ANYONE ! ! !

I’ve stayed at El Canario several times over the last 30 years, but this time will be the last. The place has gone way downhill. TV didn’t work, only 1 lamp, no mini fridge, no dresser for storing clothes and one couldn’t put toilet paper into the toilet. The terrible TV reception was probably most problematic.
