"Small comfortable hotel close to the centre of town and the beach. Staff were friendly and the room was clean and spacious. We had a room facing the back of the hotel. We thought that would protect us from the street noises, but the neighbourhood roosters woke us every morning at 4:45 AM. We were surprised when we found out that they don't accept credit cards. This meant a trip to the only ATM in town which charged very high service fee (174 pesos!). The breakfasts were reasonably priced and very good. One night there was a special evening pasta dinner for Valentines day. It was the best meal we had in Celestun. Highly recommend this hotel."

"What a beautiful and relaxing experiance i had a POSADA MARIA ISABEL..Mil gracias to my wonderful host Alejandra who pointed me in all the right directions like COCTELERIA LAS CONCHITAS for fabulous ceviches. The posada sets ocean front next to the light house and close to the Muelle. Alejandra has a giant palapa for shade . Their are plenty of chairs tables and lounges . Celestún is a very relaxed beach town in Yucatán .Thank you again Alejandra espero nos vemos pronto"

"We stayed three nights at Hotel Don Gonzalo in Celestun in January 2024, reserving our room by telephone directly with the hotel. Originally we had planned lodging further from downtown, but opted for Hotel Gonzalo’s more central location because of easier access to restaurants, grocery stores, the bus/“combi van” arrival and departure points, and the two ATMs at the main plaza. Hotel Gonzalo has fast and consistent wi-fi, pleasant and accommodating staff, average but adequate breakfasts, hot showers, good lighting, rooms large enough for two people to access both sides of the comfortable, firm, beds, and is as quiet as it gets in Celestun. As elsewhere in Merida State, many homes in Celestun have barking dogs. At the time of our stay, the hotel accepted payment only in pesos, not credit cards. Most restaurants and guide services, however, did accept credit cards. We would stay again at this hotel, as it is comfortable and is a good value."

Hartelijk dank aan mijn prachtige gastheer Alejandra die mij in alle goede richting aan de hand van COCTELERIA LAS CONCHITAS voor prachtige ceviches. De posada stelt de oceaan vooraan naast het lichthuis en dicht bij de Muelle. Alejandra heeft een enorme palapa voor schaduw. Er zijn genoeg stoelen en lounges.
