The hotel is very cute and cozy, I loved my room despite was quite smaller comparing to the pictures shown in their page. People are lovely and breakfast is awesome the only 2 thing that upset me a lot is that I complained twice that my A/C heater was doing a very heavy noise and hasn’t been fixed at all as well in my room there was a problem with the hot water and on Winter time in Cape Town this is such a discomfort.

Mooie ruime en smaakvol ingerichte kamer met privé zwembad met uitzicht op de bergen. De staff was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam met alles. We waren bestolen in Kaapstad en de staff deed alles om ons te helpen, ze reden zelfs met ons mee naar de politie voor de aangifte. Echt fantastisch! Ook hielpen zij ons met een PCR test te regelen.

Prima klein hotel, kamers en privé parking, gelegen in nabijheid van Waterfront V&A (maar niet beloopbaar). Onze kamer had een plunge pool en terras. Prettig personeel. Receptie 24/7 bemand. Ontbijt made to order op aangenaam terras. De sandwiches met avocado waren heerlijk.

Very nice staff. Worst hotel room I have ever had. (There have been worse motel rooms ). It was in the basement and felt like it was in the basement There was only 1 window, 3feet by 14 inches, well above head height. It was in the shower which was also in the room.

I dont normally leave bad reviews as i feel that everyone deserves a chance. But the Sugar Hotel in Ct has allowed me to make an exception. The worst hotel with shocking service. Room was not at all what was advertised. (Large double room with city view) not so much! Not even a window. Upon complaining i was met with hostility and arrogance and told its not their problem and i have to deal with the OTA (Agoda) that i booked through. They were argumentative and rude and unhelpful. Both managers on duty. Refused to give me owner’s details. Room is matchbox size Shocking.

Room was clean, big and had everything we needed. The staff were helpful and friendly. Location is conveniently close to the V&A waterfront but not walkable. Breakfast was delicious with good selections.

We were very excited for our stay in this “5 star hotel” and to have the luxurious experience that you do get at a 5 star hotel. But that bubble was quickly burst when we arrived, this is not even close to being a 5 star, maybe 10 years back, I think that is when last maintenance was done on the Hotel. The only okay part was the reception staff, came to the counter a couple of times to find the person sleeping on the couch because of very long shifts. The breakfast staff is not trained and don’t understand english so to get the right food on your plate was a challenge, the breakfast was decent to give a compliment. Make sure not to book a standard room as it will feel like you are sleeping in the broom closet.

This is not a five star property. Dark room, old carpet, tired and shabby. No dressing gown or slippers or lobby lounge area.
