"We would give hotel Lopez 7 out of 10. Everything is okay while nothing is outstanding. This goes for the room, the bathroom, the pool. The breakfast I liked. The lady is friendly. We got eggs, toast, fruite, orange juice and coffee or tea. Campeche disappointed me. We ate at three restaurants: one was very expensive, the second one had only beer and no other alcoholic drinks and the last one (BODEGA 59 Social Kitchen & Bar) was quite good with american food and a glass of wine. The historic center has been beautifully renovated. The houses look great and are beautifully lit at night. We visited Centro Cultural Casa No. 6. That is interesting because you can see how the rich merchants used to live. There are not many sights in Campeche. And what there is, is not much. For example, the city walls are really very small city walls. And the Malecon, the boulevard along the sea, is a road with a lot of traffic with a bare sidewalk along it. I can't make more of it. Playa Bonita has terrible reviews; we decided against going there."

"Aside from being a great location and helpful staff, the room is absolutely overpriced for what it is. It was a small barren room, no side lamp, no place to set your luggage or clothes aside from the floor, no bench, hangers, nothing, just a bed, a small table and a tv. Felt like a hospital room. No windows, the bathroom smells of chemicals and there was a huge cockroach which the staff kindly got rid of for me. WiFi is poor. They have a nice terrace, but there is no shade so it is almost impossible to stay there if not when the sun is down. I was thankfully there only for one night, could not have stayed longer. They have a detachment which is Hotel Edzna, around the corner, is cheaper and rooms are big in a charming old building. Make sure you book that instead."
