"We stayed at this hotel for three nights in a second-floor room with a lake view. The room was basic, with few electrical outlets, not all of which worked. There was no air conditioning. The size was adequate, as was the bathroom. However, the lack of a non-slip mat in the bathtub/shower was quite dangerous. The red checkered duvet covers were like something you'd find in a mountain cabin in winter. The restaurant's offerings were rather disappointing, consisting almost entirely of convenience food. The staff was courteous and polite, and the housekeeping service was unobtrusive. Nevertheless, we were satisfied with the value for money because the location was unbeatable: the train station and boat dock were right outside the door, and the valley station of the Brienzer Rothorn cable car was directly behind the building. It couldn't be better. The traffic in front of the hotel was minimal and wasn't bothersome at night, even with the balcony door open."

The dinner in the restaurant at night was also a surprise, very delicious, and the wine was good. It is rare to see a hotel with so many elegantly decorated and beautiful lounges in addition to the lobby. I highly recommend the Franz Weber Suite, which has both waterfall and lake views!
