"Unfortunately, I thought this was a Mom and Pop place. Nope. I opened the door to the room, turned around, shut the door, locked it and went back to the check-in, which is a block away from the motel. To be fair, there should be a cigarette hanging out of the pelican’s mouth because it is a smoking place. I didn’t even know they had smoking rooms in Minnesota. I would not have stayed in that room, even if it had air conditioning and was non-smoking. I told the lady at the check in, I have asthma and I could not stay in that room. Unfortunately there was a huge race at the Brainerd International Raceway that weekend, and there are no rooms available. I drove the 2 1/2 hours home rather than stay in that room."

"It was very loud due to the bar being attached to the motel so the thumping of the band went on for a while. Then the couple in the next room were fighting and yelling and due to the lack of a good door or sound proofing it kept us awake and of course was not pleasant to listen to. About 2:00 AM we went to the car to see if we had ear plugs. We came back into the room and turned the light on to put them in and saw bed bugs scrambling across the bed. So at 2:30 AM we were Googling another place to go stay. When we went to the office the next day to explain what happened they said oh well, that happens !!"

"Totally lacking amenities. No fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker, no hair dryer, no elevator, no handicap rooms. we had a lamp in the room, it wasn't even plugged in, why? No bulb!! We used the phone to call the front desk, got a dial tone, pushed the "O" button and were hung up on....three times. We were just trying to access the "free" wi-fi, which we never were able to use. Granted the room was very cheap, but we left after one night."
