Hotels met ontbijt in Turpan

After we encountered a bad experience with a desert glamping resort in Dunhuang, we were a bit cautious with Dune when we booked it. However, after I communicated with the manager in Dune via WeChat, I was more confident as he was very polite and helpful. He helped us to booked a transfer from Turpan Airport to Dune resort. As our flight arrived Turpan in the evening, it was late when we arrived at Dune. The manager and another staff came to the entrance of the driveway to welcome us and helped us with our luggage. They took us straight to our tent, and they upgraded us to a bigger tent, too. We woke up to this beautiful Kumtag Desert Sand dunes, right in front of our tent! It was so beautiful. As the off peak season started, we were the only guests there but the staff were serving us with delicious breakfast and dinner. The food was delicious and plentiful! The manager and staff were very attentive to our requests. One of the staff has helped us to arrange a local guide/driver to take us to the Kumtag desert for an exciting ATV ride and sand sliding. We had a great time. We ended up hiring the same guide, a pleasant and calm Uygur young guy to take us for some sightseeing and dropped us back to Turpan. I would say to anyone who is looking for a real desert glamping, please come to Dune in Shahshan near Turpan instead of Dunhuang.

Shanshan is a small town and if you do come here, it would be to visit the Kumtaq desert. The desert is 15-20 minutes from the hotel, so is the Shanshanbei railway station. I recommend this hotel because of the service of the front desk staff, Ms Xiaoba who goes above and beyond to help. She was responsive on wechat and organised a car to pick us up, she willingly booked a taxi for as we couldn’t find the address to the night market on our DIDI app., she provided extra water and answered any questions with a smile. This is a new hotel so looks clean and fresh with a smart toilet. They even have tents/ tepees so if you have a kid, this is a welcome. I saw a room with spiderman and Barbie princess theme too. The breakfast has many Chinese options and they are well cooked and delicious. They do have a coffee machine. I’d stay here again if I were to revisit. Kumtaq Desert is worth a visit and the second golf cart/sightseeing mini bus drives you right to the end and brings you back to the second station. The other deserts we visited didn’t have this. The locations is nice, close to or in the grape valley, service is friendly, we stayed at the family room which is a duplex and had a good sleep. For the high price of 1.200 Yuan would have expected lights at entrance area of complex, more luxurious reception area (currently more Chinese boarding house style), bedside tables with lights, more than a basic breakfast. It’s a nice place for 300-500 max, for 1200 you usually get a luxury resort and service in China.

The hotel is in a generally good location Turpan, a 5 minute walk from bezeklik street, which made it a convenient base for exploring. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and we really appreciated how accommodating they were, they even let us change rooms when something wasn’t quite right, which we thought was great service. Overall, the service was excellent and staff genuinely tried to help whenever possible. Breakfast was good and offered a nice start to the day. One thing worth noting is that although the hotel advertises a gym and a laundry room, the gym was not available during our stay as the hotel is still new and parts of it were under construction. There was also no on-site laundry room, but the hotel did offer to take our laundry and have it done at another hotel, which was actually a very helpful and well-handled solution. Despite these points, the hotel offers very good value for money, and the positive service really made a difference to our stay.

The hotel is situated in Turpan's grape valley. It's classic and beautiful Uyghur adobe houses in the middle of a grape yard (you can literally pick grapes to eat). We loved the idea and the staff was very helpful. She helped us order dinner since we were too tired from the heat to leave our rooms. The room could use some more cleaning. The shower curtain is mouldy and it won't shut; we know it's nature so we didn't really care about the spider and cricket in the room, but it could use some work with dust.

We booked on short notice ten minutes before arrival and were absolutely surprised. Despite the language barrier the team of receptionists went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The rooms are very spacious, spotlessly clean and have all the amenities one needs for a pleasant stay, and more. We slept very well in the new, comfortable beds. The bathroom itself is bigger than some hotel rooms elsewhere. The real highlight though was the complimentary breakfast we, were offered. Plenty of great food to choose from, coffee and tea. Upon checkout we could store our luggage for free until our train departed. All in all, great value for money and we'd definitely stay again.

Location very good in the city centre. You can walk to the museum and lake in a few minutes. Lots of restaurants and a good supermarket minutes away. Staff at check in very friendly and helpful. Breakfast good, if you like Chinese style. Room was spacious and modern. One of the most comfortable beds I've slept in for a long time! Aircon was reasonable - temperatures outside were still quite mild for Turpan. However, if I was booking in the summer months I would check reviews on Trip beforehand to make sure it was coping with the high temperatures. No fridge in the room, which was a surprising for a modern 4 star hotel and would be another disadvantage in the summer months there. Breakfast only starts at 0800. On the day I left, I had to get a taxi at 0750. The lovely ayis in the kitchen gave me a box of food to go and slept encouraging me to take even more food! However, no one was on at reception at that time! Overall, good in many areas but needs to improve in others.

Hygiëne: De kamer was erg schoon en de bedden en badkamer waren brandschoon, wat zorgde voor een comfortabel verblijf. Service: Uitstekend! We kwamen laat aan en de knappe eigenaar belde om te vragen hoe het met ons ging. We werden bij aankomst begroet met welkomstfruit, waardoor we ons meteen thuis voelden. Onze identiteitskaarten waren licht beschadigd en de eigenaar had attent beschermhoezen voorzien – echt attente service! Omgeving: Erg rustig, met stromend water in de buurt, een ontspannen sfeer. Eten: Het ontbijt was gezond en uitgebreid, inclusief gestoomde babypompoen, gierstpap, eieren en naanbrood, dat de eigenaar attent had neergezet. Al met al ben ik zeer tevreden over dit pension. Het is duidelijk dat de eigenaren toegewijd zijn aan hun bedrijf. Ik zou de volgende keer langer blijven en het van harte aanbevelen!

Een fantastische plek! Uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. De omgeving is prachtig, met wijngaarden vol druiven, het lijkt wel een sprookje. Er is een shuttlebus die snel en efficiënt rijdt. De kamer in de vorm van een wijnvat is geweldig en schoon. Het personeel is erg aardig en efficiënt en heeft ons uitstekend geholpen. Het ontbijt is heerlijk en gevarieerd, met ook vegetarische opties. Er is een mogelijkheid tot gratis wasservice en de receptie is 24/7 bereikbaar. De rondleiding door de wijnmakerij was prachtig en het lange kanaal is zeer indrukwekkend. De shuttlebus van het station naar het hotel en vice versa werkte perfect. Een puntje van kritiek: het zwembad was tijdens ons hele verblijf vies. Verder is het gewoon een geweldige plek! We komen zeker terug!

This 4 star hotel has a goid rating on Trip.com and I can understand why. However, I liken this hotel to a 20 year old luxury car such as an E36 7 series BMW or Lexus LS 430. Exceptional and glorious when new, but getting old and tired fast. On a superficial level the rooms look grand and sumptuous, but on greater scrutiny there are issues. One if these are the carpets, which are either in dire need of steam cleaning on a forensic level of thoroughness, or outright replacement. Some sections are worn and faded, while many odd bits and pieces can be found (and felt with bare feet), that seem to have escaped the attention of the room staff, e.g toothpicks, other miscellaneous refuse deposited by previous guests. I booked a continental double room, for $68 AUD per night and there was a misalignment of the door with its frame. Large enough to see through to the outside! The room contained a sofa Comfortable enough but with fabric badly worn away. The white veneer paint on tables has seen better days. Having said all this, overall, the hotel offers rooms of a relatively high standard. Ornate furnishings, large, extremely comfortable beds and pillows, a huge bathroom with sufficient water pressure and responsive hot water on demand (bathroom has a smart lighting arrangement which switches on via a sensor). There are a dozen individual controls for room lighting. Lots of cupboards and drawers and powerpoints where needed. There is a gym but for some undisclosed reason is currently closed, of February 2024. Is a buffet style restaurant with several guests dining in it which looked very well staffed. Reception will go out of their way to give assistance with arranging tours, ordering taxis etc, and try to ensure guests are satisfied. In summary, the hotel looks good and to some extent is good, but may not be worth paying $50 US a night to stay in and was a little disappointing.
