"We spent a few nights here in April 2024. We usually take 10 days and go to Europe in April but this year we had to stay close to home. I found this last minute and it was a nice time. Staff is very friendly. We were the only people on the resort one night but even the nights when there were other people it was peaceful. We got one of the tents with the outdoor tub. It was great sitting in it and looking at the stars. The clawfoot tub was luxury. My husband loved cooking with their cast iron. We walked down to the river. We brought all of our food with us and never left once we got there. It was exactly what we needed. No, it wasn't a fancy vacation, but it was calm, lowkey and relaxing. We would not hesitate coming back in the spring or winter. I am not sure I would want to be there in the heat of Texas summer even with the mini splits. Thank you, Walden owners and staff, for a respite from our daily lives."

"Hij besloot op het laatste moment een snel reis naar Texas Hill Country te maken en liet Blanco in plaats van de zakelijke en dure Fredericksburg kiezen. Het Henry Hotel zag er goed uit, dus besloot het uit te proberen. Het was een goede keuze. De kamer was ruime (koningkamer met een aparte zitkamer) en onbevlekt schoon. Het bed was zeer hoog (wees op de hoogte als u mobiele problemen hebt), maar zeer comfortabel, en het hotel was rustig, ondanks het minder dan een blok van Hwy 281. De werknemers waren vriendelijk en handig. De vibe is teruggezet... bijna AirBnB-ish. Niemand was op het front desk toen we er waren, maar er was een briefje met mijn naam op de counter met de kamersleutel (een echte sleutel... geen sleutelkaart). Toen we de voorkant van de dienstmeester later zagen, vroeg ze of we problemen hadden of iets nodig hadden. Nee... alles was goed! Er is een klein menu voor eten, inclusief ontbijt, maar we hebben er niet gegeten, dus ik kan er niet op reageren. Als we weer een hotel in Blanco nodig hebben, zou ik blij zijn hier weer te blijven."

"I spent 2 nights at the Blue Retreat Cottage as part of a trip to the Hill Country. I had passed thru Blanco a few years ago and loved the town so wanted to spend some more time there. Great town I recommend you check it out. I thought the cottage was perfect for me. Enjoyed the deck and had coffee there each morning. Access to the State Park is right thru a gate in the backyard which was convenient as I like to take morning walks. Lots of deer around in the morning! All in all I enjoyed my time here and will definitely stay here again!"
